A lot of good news to share! e Gravity Pipeline project is nearing completion although critical items of work remain,
specifically, the connections of our member agencies’ collections systems to the gravity pipe system. A preliminary treatment

is summer, we will be celebrating the one-year anniversary of completing our second tunneling drive – time flies! Although
all the tunnel boring machine components and its support equipment have long been out of the ground, there is still work
to be done. SVcW’s contractor partner, Barnard-Bessac Joint Venture (BBJV), BBJV has completed inspection walks in the
tunnel to view the finished pipe installation in the tunnel. is activity was followed by installation of the last set of tie-in
pipes inside the Airport Access Shaft, which was the tBM launch shaft. e installation of the tie-in pipes, which connect

At the Front of Plant site, SVcW’s contractor partner, Shea Parsons Joint Venture (SPJV), continues to make progress at the

construction work continues on the Belmont Gravity Pipeline (BGP) along
Shoreway road in Belmont and San carlos. SVcW's contractor partner, Shea
Parsons Joint Venture (SPJV) and their subcontractor Power Engineering
construction (PEc), are progressing with Phase 3 of the construction work. BGP
work relies on microtunneling trenchless construction to install the new 36-inch
diameter pipeline between tunneling launch and receiving shafts, which must be
constructed before microtunneling can commence. Work along Shoreway road
involves short-term complete shutdown of the road, followed by traffic control for
ongoing management of traffic in the area. During Phase 3 of the BGP, a vertical
shaft, referenced as receiving Shaft 3 (rS-3), is being excavated in various stages for
installation of walers. Walers are horizontal steel structural beams that are mounted
with the shaft to provide stability to the shaft in support of the shaft excavation. All
of the work is being conducted while ensuring consistent coordination with the
SVcW public outreach team and neighboring businesses to limit traffic impacts.
