Grammar
Just and Yet
Just
❖ Just means that something has happened very recently.
❖ Just used with the present perfect means “a short time before”.
❖ We can only use just with the present perfect ‘positive’.
It comes between the auxiliary verbs (have/has) and the past
participle (V3)
Subject + have/has + just + past participle……
I’ve just got a new job.
Have you just arrived?
I’ve just finished dinner. Now it is time for dessert.
Yet
❖ Yet means that something hasn’t happened but will probably happen soon.
❖ Yet used with the present perfect means 'at any time up to now’.
❖ Yet is only used in the negative sentences and questions - with the present
perfect ‘negative’.
Yet comes at the end of the sentence or question.
Subject + haven't/hasn't + past participle + yet.
She hasn’t finished her homework yet.
