Smart India Hackathon (SIH), 2022


Call to Students to Register for an Internal hackathon for Nomination to SIH2022

The Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) in coordination with All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE) has launched Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 during the National Innovation Week
held under the initiative of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 11th Jan 2022. Students from the University are
called to participate in the Smart India Hackathon, 2022.
As per the guidelines, the participating teams (maximum 15 teams) are to be nominated by the University.
For selecting the teams and ideas for nomination, ideas will be screened at the level of the University.
The Centre calls for participation of students for the University level screening, through registration by April

The screening of ideas in the form of an internal hackathon of ideas, will be conducted in the afternoon of
12th April, 2022. Selected teams and ideas will be issued with Institutional nomination for the Smart India
Hackathon, 2022.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON TEAM FORMATION


i. All team members should be from TU only; no inter-college teams are allowed. However, members from
different branches of the same college/ institute are encouraged to form a team.
ii. Each team would mandatorily comprise of 6 members including the team leader.
iii. Each team must have AT LEAST ONE FEMALE TEAM MEMBER.
iv. As the software edition of the hackathon is digital product development competition, majority of the
team members MUST be well versed with programming skills. For the hardware edition, multi-
disciplinary teams are encouraged.
v. To become eligible to participate in the SIH2022, the nominated teams must participate in the Internal
hackathon

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON HOW A STUDENT TEAM CAN REGISTER AT SIH2022

Only those students will be eligible to register at the SIH2022 who have registered and participated in the
Internal Hackathon, scheduled on 12th April 2022. The CIIE will arrange to nominate the top 15 teams based
on the internal hackathon results.
