business group-fixed line, wireless, and information and communications technology-PLDT offers the

PLDT has a network of 178 central office exchanges serving the Metro Manila area and 191 other cities
and municipalities throughout the country. As of 1999, the number of fixed lines in service throughout
the PLDT’s system was approximately 1.8 million, representing approximately 60% of all fixed lines in
service in the country and still continues expand, enhance and diversify its products and services to
meet the growing demand for technologically advanced telecommunication service. As of December
2005, there are already 71,961 working lines in PLDT Cavite Business Zone alone.
Other services that PLDT offers are enhanced special telephone features, prepaid and postpaid cards,
inbound and outbound home country direct services, toll-free (800) services, call malls, unlimited P10
rate using National Direct Dialing calls (PLDT to PLDT and PLDT to SMART cellular phones), DSL
(Broadband), and Vibe Internet.
PLDT is listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE: TEL) and its American Depositary Shares are listed
on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:PHI) and the Pacific Exchange. PLDT has one of the largest
market capitalizations among Philippine listed companies.
Brief History of PLDT Cavite Exchange
(Binakayan, Kawit, Cavite)
PLDT Cavite Exchange first held its office in Gen. E. Topacio St., Imus, Cavite in 1981. Servicing several
areas in Cavite namely Imus, Bacoor, Cavite City, Rosario and Dasmariñas, the Company has installed
800 lines. Eventually, the demand for telecommunication needs increased, PLDT acquired a lot in
Binakayan (Bisita St. Sarino Subdivision) and moved its office there from Imus in 1985. This is to better
accommodate the requests of existing customers and future customers. During that year, Imus and
Bacoor areas were merged under Binakayan Exchange and already 3000 lines were working.
In 1992, the Step-by-Step Switching equipment enabled to expand the working line to 4000. And by
1995, this equipment was replaced by the new Digital Switching System which made clears and faster
telecommunications.
The growth and advancement of PLDT Cavite Exchange lies on its hard-working Staff under the
leadership of its Managers. They are:

Currently, there are 13 Sub-Exchange under Cavite Exchange namely Imus, Bacoor, Rosario, Dasmariñas,
Silang, Cavite City, Tagaytay, Naic, CEPZA, Indang, Carmona, FCIE, and Trece Martirez. With 70,000
working lines and offering a variety of special features and products, PLDT continues to aim high in
better servicing the people.
