School Counseling Guidance Lesson Overview
Oxford Academy is a high academic achieving school. Students experience social
pressures and expectations that influence their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
As a result, providing social emotional guidance lessons that strengthen students'
sense of self and others encourages healthy decision making in multiple
environments, such as at school, home, or even online.

The OA counseling team facilitated a guidance lesson on social etiquette. The

lesson builds students skills in self-awareness, manners, internet safety, and
understanding various types of boundaries.

In November 2021, all 7th and 8th grade students received the lesson in their
science class. The lessons were taught by the counseling team.
