Toxic Water

The document discusses various causes of water pollution including littering, fuel leakage from factories, and sewage leakages. Littering near water resources releases harmful chemicals and increases algal blooms, affecting aquatic life. Factory emissions release toxic chemicals into water. Sewage leakages contaminate water sources and can spread diseases. Prevention methods include not littering, advanced sewage treatment, and reducing factory emissions.

Don’t litter near the water resources. If we are to use sewage water by recycling it then we can do so
by collecting the water, chlorinating it and passing it through certain machinery to ensure that the
water is safe to drink and use in household resources. We can clean industrial wastes by using copper
vessels, exposure to sunlight and charcoal filtration.

Chemicals, bacteria, and other pollutants affect our drinking water. (“Water
Pollution”, Toppr) Water pollution in basic terminology can be defined as the
presence of any sort of foreign material whether it is organic or non-organic,
biological waste or chemical waste of any kind which are released into the water
through industrialization, this material not only renders the water un-useful but is
also capable of causing harmful changes in the environment such as acid rain.

Report about water pollution. Explained in this report will be three causes: Litter,
Fuel leakage, Waste material caused by factories, with effects and prevention to
stop the effects.

Water Pollution is not only a threat to human health but also the environment.
Litter that is thrown into the ocean can travel long distances with the waves or tides
which is done by human activity. People will throw trash when walking alongside
the sea and when swimming may throw useless trash from their pockets to the sea
which will end up in the ocean where marine life is based. (“Littering Affect
Environment”, Seattlepi) Not only does this litter directly affect marine life and
birds, but it also washes onto beaches, is caught in fishing nets, damages boat
motors, and causes a foul smell. Plastic bags and may asphyxiate marine animals
and fish. Animals may catch illnesses/diseases or die from swallowing trash, such
as cigarettes and silicon packets. Metal scraps and broken glass can cut the flesh of
birds and other animals. (“Littering Affect Environment”, Seattlepi)

Water pollution can threaten the life of marine life. Factories cause most of our
water pollution into oceans and seas and a big player in that are oil spills that make
up about 12% of the oil that enters the ocean. The rest come from shipping travel,
drains and dumping. Oil spills from a tanker are a severe problem because there is
such a huge quantity of oil being spilt into one place. Oil spills cause a very serious
problem that can be catastrophic to sea life such as fish, birds and sea otters. (“Oil
pollution in Water”, Water Pollution) Oil cannot dissolve in water and forms a
thick sludge in the water. This suffocates fish, oil can get stuck in the feathers of
marine birds stopping them from flying and blocks light from photosynthetic
aquatic plants. Also, if oil was to be swallowed by anything it will cause
catastrophic results which include deadly diseases or straight to death. (“Oil
pollution in Water”, Water Pollution)

Sewage leakages are a big problem in today’s world as it is contaminating a lot of

water. Sewage in most countries is taken through pipes and then released into the
ocean which becomes toxic waste in the ocean. That sewage which is Human
wastes then later on at some point will evaporate resulting into unclean air. (“How
does sewage affect the environment”, Envirotech) When sewage leakage ends up
in the ocean it can affect marine life which can result into illnesses. Contamination
of water sources can cause diseases to spread, such as e-coli, diarrhea and hepatitis
A. Furthermore, sewage contamination can create foul smells for nearby residents
which can also cause serious diseases as previously mentioned. (“How does
sewage affect the environment”, Envirotech)

Water Pollution is harmful towards every field of our life and can result in a
devastating effect. In addition, don’t litter near the water resources. If we are to use
sewage water by recycling it then we can do so by collecting in the water,
chlorinating it and passing it through certain machinery to ensure that we the water
is safe to drink and use in household resources. We can clean industrial wastes by
using copper vessels, exposure to sunlight and charcoal filtration. In addition, to
prevent sewage leakage, make sure to get a bi-monthly maintenance check by a
plumber. To avoid wastage into public places, consult and convince the
state/province to put wastage plants. Recycle as much water as you can and do not
waste. (“Srivastava , CH#2.4)
