TASK 3

This presents a critique of a research work titled: English Language Acquisition:


Gender-related Perspectives among the Students of Cebu Technological
University Danao Campus. To enable the appraisal of the research work, these
four issues will be utilized: clear identification of the subject, establishment of
context (through a review of one or two pertinent "foundational" research
articles), clear hypothesis and clear purpose.

 Clear Identification of the Subject


The research paper evidently outlines the subject of the study. It presents
a clear and definite statement of the area or concern investigation about the
substantial difference on the beliefs between male and female on language
acquistion.

 Establishment of Context (through a review of one or two pertinent


"foundational" research articles)
The research paper gives what is asked about presenting one or two
pertinent foundational research articles. It has a vivid setting up of context with
the aid of research articles. It is really backed by evidence which is definitely
deemed appropriate. Since the subject is about the beliefs of male and female on
language acquisition, it is being contextualized through providing anchor studies
and literature reviews. However, I am looking forward for a research article
which would be grounded on this research paper that would really state the
different beliefs of male and female on language acquisition.

 Clear Hypothesis
The hypothesis clearly defines the phenomenon and the focus of the
study. It is clear, precise and specific where one can envision the expected
outcome.

 Clear Purpose
The purpose is clearly presented. It focuses on the phenomenon being
studied, establishes a logical argument and asserts a position.
