TASK1- (Knowledge /Understanding)
I. Fill in the blanks-
1. Closed figure formed by line segments is Polygon
2. A triangle has three sides
3. A polygon which is formed by four line segments is called Quadrilateral
4. A circle is round in shape and has no sides and corners
5. Diameter = 2 x Radius
6. Lines which never meet are called Parallel lines.
7. Radius is the fixed distance between the center and any point on a circle
8. All sides of square are equal
9. A circle has no side and no vertex
10. A closed figure has the same starting and end point
II. Write True or False for the following statements
Identify the Name and Number of Sides for the Given Fig
1
TASK-2: APPLICATION
III. Find the Radius/Diameter of the Circle
1. Find the diameter of a circle with radius 6 cm?
Diameter = 2 x R
= 2 x 6 = 12cm
2. Find the diameter of a circle with radius 10 cm ?
D=2XR
= 2 X 10 = 20 cm
3. Find the radius of the circle whose diameter is 28 cm?
R= D/2
= 28/2 = 14 cm
4. Find the radius of the circle whose diameter is 50?
R = 50/2 = 25 cm
5. D = 2 X 6 = 12 cm
6. R = 18/2 = 9 cm
Skill (Critical Thinking)
2
1.
1 st one is better deal.
2. Mike Purchases a round wall clock. The clock’s radius is 10m. What is the diameter
of the clock?
Radius of the clock = 10 m
Diameter of the clock = 2 x10 = 20 m
3. The diameter of the wheel of a bicycle is 40 cm. Find the radius of the wheel?
Diameter of the wheel = 40 cm
Radius of the wheel = 40/2 = 20 cm
4. Using a compass , draw circles of given radius with ‘O’ as centre. Write the measure
of their diameters.
(a) 3cm (b) 2.5 cm
