Show a variety of images of works of art, art museums,
prehistoric places, and art artifacts. Allow the students to analyze
and share insights about the pictures presented.
In recalling the previous lesson, ask the following questions to
the pupils:
a. What is art?
b. What is an example of art?
c. What have you learned from our previous lesson?
B. Motivation
1
The class will be divided into two groups, with each group being
instructed to dramatize or portray the prehistoric people's daily lives
and arts. The pupils will have 5 minutes to prepare before presenting
to the class. After each group performance, the students will be asked
the following questions.
What do you think is our topic for today?
When you hear the word "prehistoric," what comes to mind
first?
What have you learned from the activity?
What are your thoughts on how the arts of prehistoric people
relate to their daily lives?
C. Activity
The students are told to go back to their groups for a new series of
activities. Each group will be given a puzzle by the teacher. The
puzzles then represent the pieces of paleolithic art. The students are
given a time limit to connect and form the puzzles. Afterwards, they
must then organize the jumbled words, which is the name of the
artwork, when they have completed the challenge. The game is won
by the first group to complete the task.
After that, have the kids describe and define art of each picture in
their own words. Guide them in formulating ideas through these
following questions.
What do you observe in the picture?
What do you think the pictures is all about?
In your own words, describe or define the art of prehistoric
era based on the pictures given to each group.
