Job Description

Role: CNC Operator

Purpose: To operate CNC lathes and associated machinery and maintain production processes to ensure best possible productivity and
quality.

Reports to: Section Lead and Production Manager

Experience and Qualifications Experience operating CNC lathes. Able to work independently and under own initiative.

Area of Key Responsibilities Key Performance Indicators


Focus
Production • Operate various CNC lathes efficiently and effectively throughout the workshop • Exceed quality targets - Zero rejects/Zero wastage
• Ensure that quality of production is being maintained • Exceed efficiency targets (>95% efficiency)
• Use measuring equipment to check output (ie. verniers and micrometers) • High quality of workmanship
• Basic understanding of drawing specifications • Timely and effective completion of duties
• Replace tools and adjust tool offsets to maintain quality of production. • Minimal NCRs and wastage.

Business • Keep machines in optimum functional condition by ensuring maintenance and • Plant is well maintained and operational
Function periodic checks are undertaken. Undertake plant and tool checks where required Machine cleaning is frequently undertaken
