Apart from Randy, other major problems at fine Art are below:
Question I
 The company didn't have distributed and organized structure.
 Working and decisions are solely dependent on Randy's
experience and expertise.
 Lack of environment of respect for opinions and expertise of
other departmental heads.
 They have the freedom to speak but their ideas are not
considered to be executable.
 Lack of confidence among heads
 Lack of appreciation and understanding among different heads
 High cost of raw material and inefficient supply chain
Question I 1. List and elaborate on the reasons….

a. The FireArt Team led by Eric (80 words)

Eric did his best job in including the most suitable members in his team
from different departments. But the problem was too diverse views of
all people and unacceptable behavior of Randy. All head gave their
best advice based on their proper research but they were not heard.
Constant efforts of Randy to make others feel less capable have to lead
to destructive teamwork. A team without being Randy part would have
done better.

b. Randy Louderback (80 words)

He is an overconfident personality. He is rigid with his approach. He


doesn't want to consider the opinions of other people and portray
himself as the most qualified individual to take the decision. He
believes he has the best working style and only that can guarantee the
success of Fine Art. He is definitely not a team player rather prefers to
dominate by demotivating comments. Due to this approach, other
heads of Fine Art feel disrespected, unheard, unmotivated.

c. Eric Holt (80 words)

Eric holt has a dependent attitude. he doesn't have confidence in his


own decisions and considers himself less competent. He wants his
ideas to be approved by Randy because he is experienced as he doesn't
want to take risks. He doesn't have team management skills and
couldn't raise his voice for his own or team member opinions.
Question II 1. Steps that Eric should adopt..…..timelines.
a. Short-term (1-3 months) (80 words)

In the short term action Eric should trim down his team. All the people
who aren't team players and aren't contributing should be asked to
leave the company. Secondly, Eric should focus on those projects only
for the time being, which he feels the company will be surely able to
execute with success. Eric shouldn't accept any complicated work
offers now.
Question II 1. Steps that Eric should adopt

b. Medium-term (beyond 3 months) (80 words)

In the medium-term Eric would look for some financial investments


and he will bring in new technology. Instead of only depending on his
human resources he may think of bringing in automation in his
business. Implementation of automation technology, Artificial
Intelligence will help the company to turn round. It will provide the
company with that extra edge. Also with the new round of investment
he will try to bring in better quality of human resources in the
company.

Taking help of DSS, MIS. These will help the company in taking right
decisions at the right time. With the help of necessary information’s.

Implementing CRM in the company will help to manage the customer


relation in an efficient order.

Providing training to the employees and conducting performance

a. Sensing (80 words)

Jack Derry has sensing skills as he analyzed that the Fine Art is not
performing well and communicated the same with Eric at the
appropriate time before things get worse. He realized that prevention is
better than cure. thus, asked Eric to quickly form a team and work upon
new ideas and innovations.

Jack derry quickly related that Randy would be the most suitable
person for solving the problem that Fine Art is facing based upon
Randy's past expertise.
