THE CIVILAVIATION ACT, 2019 Short title.

Being an Act to provide for the repeal and replacement of the


Civil Aviation Act, 2017 for an effective aviation safety and security
oversight system; to address the requirements of the Chicago
Convention on International Civil Aviation ( 1944 ) and to provide
for other related matters.

PART I – PRELIMINARY engine, its cowlings or accessories; or

authorised by the Authority either generally or in
relation to a particular case, or the holder for the time "civil aircraft" means an aircraft, other than a State or
being of any office designated as such by the public aircraft;

operation involving the transport of passengers, operations within borders or airspace of Sierra Leone,
cargo or mail for remuneration or hire; whether on a scheduled or charter basis;

"Contracting State" means a Contracting State to the "general aviation operation" means an aircraft

"court" means a court of competent jurisdiction;
"Government" means the Government of Sierra Leone;
"crew member" means a person assigned to perform "ground handling agent" means an independent
