Hypothesis

The insufficiency of books in schools negatively contributes to the teaching and learning process,
which culminates in low development of reading and expression of words in English, as well as
the domain of speech.

Most secondary school teachers do not promote fun practices as an exercise in improving
listening and increasing basic vocabulary.

Students in schools do not use English in communication and in permanent contact with peers as
well as teachers.

There is great concern about obtaining books from both students and teachers who tend to have
them as a material asset.

How the use of books contribute positive and negativelly of developing the vocabulary of the
language with a view to improving listening.

Check if greater effort is made in the search for word meanings in addition to reading the
grammar of words in dictionaries, listening to stories, sounds/music's.

Great failure shows itself as a lack of interest in effectively consulting the pronunciation of
words in teachers as well as among peers.

Statement of the problem.

The national education system is administered by well-trained teachers, who have a wide range
of methods and techniques that guide them and lead them to the best performance of their
psychopedagogical activities in teaching different skills (in the case of communicative
competence, which is reading and speaking)based on this aspect, these methods and techniques
positively influence the diversification of their work. however, students do not comprehend
while listening fluently in secondary schools in Mozambique (such as the school of Mocodoene).
This problem occurs when students are shy to face speeches or even to formulate answers during
the period of mediation and assimilation in the classroom. However, the ability to listening can
increase success in speaking.

The involvement of different means, methods and techniques in the constant exercise of
listening at the secondary school level becomes deeply important. The reason being a major
concern, through which this research was produced.

Justification.

This study focuses on examining the contribution of activities such as the use of songs to the
development of oral language.

As an ability to lead students to the execution of learning, the teacher can, on the other hand,
enable students and submit them to creative exercises of songs production and post individually
as well as collective presentation.

In terms of recognition, both of language and communication, there is relevance in learning in


general and in particular learning to listen to speech, as students can deepen through research and
reading or sound training using song due to the fact that students do not privilege the proficiency
of constant communication in English.

Therefore, this research will greatly benefit teachers who are committed to selecting a skill to use
in a particular reading class, among other skills, which can be extremely important in leading
students to be proficient in the mastery of speech from the start. reading. (case of the English
language).

As a result of this study, they positively reflect the collection of students through reading based
on the mechanisms applied for success in learning to read and, more particularly, for learning the
English language.

Objectives.

In this context, the following objectives were highlighted:

Identify the problems that the students face in listening.


Take advantage of songs to improve listening ability.

Identify the problems that teachers face when teaching listening;

select the methods and techniques for effective and efficient listening.

Provide the students with a taste for listening.

Involve the student in the field of listening through different strategies.

Exercise listening, filling gaps through songs.
