MODULE 1 ASSIGNMENTS
MODULE 1: FUNDAMENTALS OF PERSPECTIVE
1. Module 1 Assignment 1 (EM1A1): One Point Perspective
Recommended Time Investment: 2 Hours Recommended Frequency: Daily/Weekly until Learned
Using what you’ve learned about how to build basic perspective scenes, draw out 5x, one point
perspective scenes, 1x scene per page. Draw in 3x basic blocks per scene. Ensure you’re including all
learned elements of perspective. Remember in one point perspective, horizontal lines and vertical lines
are parallel.
2. Module 1 Assignment 2 (EM1A2): Two Point Perspective
Recommended Time Investment: 2 Hours Recommended Frequency: Daily/Weekly until Learned
Using what you’ve learned about how to build basic perspective scenes, draw out 5x, two point
perspective scenes, 1x scene per page. Draw in 3x basic blocks per scene. Ensure you’re including all
learned elements of perspective. Remember in two point perspective, vertical lines are parallel to each
other, but horizontal lines recede to their respective vanishing points. If you notice distortion in your
scene, make sure your left and right vanishing points are far away enough from each other.
3. Module 1 Assignment 3 (EM1A3): Three Point Perspective
Recommended Time Investment: 2 Hours Recommended Frequency: Daily/Weekly until Learned
Using what you’ve learned about how to build basic perspective scenes, draw out 5x, three point
perspective scenes, 1x scene per page. Draw in 3x basic blocks per scene. Ensure you’re including all
learned elements of perspective. Remember in 3 point perspective horizontals and verticals will recede
to their respective vanishing points. Feel free to use the third vanishing point shortcut, as shown at the
end of Module 1, if you wish.
4. Module 1 Assignment 4 (EM1A4): Stacking Perspectives
Recommended Time Investment: 2 Hours Recommended Frequency: Daily/Weekly until Learned
You’ve learned that perspective types can be stacked on top of each other. Draw out 5x perspective
scenes using any perspective type you wish, and stack another perspective type on top of it. Draw 2x
blocks in the base type of perspective, and 1x block in the stacked perspective.
NOTE: In each of the assignments above, please be VERY AWARE OF DISTORTION. It’s important to make
sure that your Vanishing points are placed at a sufficient distance away from each other to ensure that
your blocks do not have distortion.
