This document provides a method statement for waterproofing projects with Dr. Fixit materials. It describes the process for basement waterproofing using a preformed HDPE membrane and for retaining wall waterproofing using an SBS membrane. The basement method involves cleaning and preparing the surface, applying the membrane in overlapping layers, sealing seams, and protecting it during concrete pouring. The retaining wall method lists the materials needed like primers and membranes and references tools but does not describe the application process. The document was issued for construction by SPCPL and reviewed by multiple parties.

1. Buckets, blower (if required), brushes, gloves etc.
2. Gloves, safety shoes and hard helmet.
3. Hot air welding machine.
4. Mechanical fixing accessories like drill machine

Surface preparation (Civil Contractor Scope)

1. Initial cleaning the surface and the entire area shall be taken up for thorough surface preparation
and mechanical removal of debris, laitance, protrusions, etc.
2. The area water proofing should be protected with proper barricades.
3. Continuous dewatering to be done till completion of concreting.
4. All honey combs and surface undulation has to be treated as per standard procedure.
5. All new concrete surface to be completely cured for at least 3-4 days and the substrate compressive
strength should be achieved as per the requirement or should have achieved at least 75% of the
desired strength to receive waterproofing system as per Consultant’s approval.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1. Final cleaning the surface by removing loose particles on PCC top.
2. Place the fully bonded preformed 1.2 mm thick HDPE membrane with HDPE film side facing onto
the PCC substrate and sand finish facing towards the concrete pour.
3. Leave the plastic release liner in position until overlap procedure is completed.
4. Accurately position succeeding sheets to overlap the previous sheet 75 mm along the marked
selvedge. Ensure the underside of the succeeding sheet is clean, dry and free from contamination
before attempting to overlap.
5. Peel back the plastic release liner from between the side overlaps as the two layers are bonded
together.  Ensure a continuous bond is achieved without creases and roll firmly with a roller.
6. For end laps/butt joints of 75 mm shall be sealed by removing the granular layer with a hot air tool
by scraping it off and between the overlaps, a double side coated Adhesive tape shall be fixed with
firm rolling onto the surface to get a tight seal over the entire area.

7. Any minor damages in the laid membrane, the area shall be marked and sealed with using double
sided tape as a mediator.

8. On completion of quality inspection of membrane, reinforcement laying for raft slab/ footing
bottom shall be taken up and concrete casting for raft slab/ Footing shall be done accordingly.
During concrete pouring of the raft slab/ Footing, care shall be taken by main civil contractor to
protect the membrane from pressured needle vibrators.

9. Casting grade slab/ Footing after clearance from the Client SPCPL/JHCPL.
10. Termination on vertical: The HDPE membrane shall be continued on the entire horizontal surface
and shall be taken up to a height of 300mm on the vertical inside the shuttering from PCC surface.
The membrane shall be loosely placed inside vertical side of shuttering.
11. Adequate care shall be taken by main civil contractor while tying rebar’s to avoid unnecessary
damages to the membrane.
12. If any damages observed civil contractor must intimate/inform to SPCPL/JHCPL and patch work to
be done as per the manufacturer’s standard procedure.
