“JESUS CHRIST THE MIRACLE WORKER”

(A Research and Compilation of the Miracle of Jesus)

Life of Jesus, the Son of Man, is composed of multitudinous miracles. From the very beginning
of Jesus’ life here on earth is also a miracle for us humans, He was born by a virgin. For us
human, it is very impossible, because we know that the human, to be able to bear a child in her
own womb should have first do the process with the other human, or in other words,
conception is only possible between the man and woman. But in God there is no such thing as
impossible, all things for God is possible, without any hesitation, God can do all things, through
even the single fillip of His fingers, anything could happen. Jesus did His salvific ministry to the
world, through parables, preaching, through His act of love and miracles, even the evil spirits
tremble when they see Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The Synoptic Gospels listed all the miracles
Jesus did, but we know that the account of the miracles of Jesus is absolutely incomplete,
because as what the Gospel of Saint John 21:25 says that "Jesus did many other things as
well. If every one of them was written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not
have room for the books that would be written." And the miracles of Jesus may be divided into
five classes: nature miracles; miracles of healing; deliverance of demoniacs; victories over
hostile wills; cases of resurrection (Trinitarian, 2021). The Catechism of the Catholic Church no.
548 is telling that The signs worked by Jesus attest that the Father has sent him. They invite
belief in him. To those who turn to him in faith, he grants what they ask. So miracles strengthen
faith in the One who does his Father's works; they bear witness that he is the Son of God. But
his miracles can also be occasions for "offence"; they are not intended to satisfy people's
curiosity or desire for magic. Despite his evident miracles some people reject Jesus; he is even
accused of acting by the power of demons. Therefore, Jesus’ miracles is not just a wonderful
magic that amaze us, but rather the miracle of Jesus is a sign that the Son of God
wholeheartedly came down to fulfill the salvation history and to bring the Salvific Will of God.

The Following are the 10 Miracles that Jesus did in the Beggining His Ministry with it’s
content, meaning and reflection.

 Jesus changed water into wine (John 2:1-11)

This is the first miracle that Jesus did, we will see in this account that Jesus began His
ministry and proclaimed through His act of miracle who He really is, that He is the
son of God. We will also see in this account the importance of our Mediator Blessed
Virgin Mary to His Son, because a good Son can never negate what His mother asked
him, like Jesus through Mary.

   Jesus cured the nobleman's son (John 4:46-47).

The Royal Official begged Jesus to cure his son near to death. It is a reminder for us
that Jesus’ heart is always movable with pity for those who ask His help.
 The great haul of fishes (Luke 5:1-11).
It is a miracle that proved that even Jesus have the power over nature.

 Jesus cast out an unclean spirit (Mark 1:23-28).

Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out,
“What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I
know who you are—the Holy One of God!” “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out
of him!” The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a
shriek. The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A
new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they
obey him.” News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.
It tells us that even the evil spirits, know who God is. That they have no any power
over Him.
   Jesus cured Peter's mother-in-law of a fever (Mark 1:30-31).
Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus
about her. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her
and she began to wait on them.
   Jesus healed a leper (Mark 1:40-45).
In this miracle, we saw how big the faith of leper to Jesus is. But unfortunately the
emotion of the leper for the reason that he was cured did not allowed him to follow
what Jesus told him to talk not what Jesus did to him.
 Jesus healed the centurion's servant (Matthew 8:5-13).
Jesus saw the tremendous faith of the centurion to Him, that he believed that even
through the word of Jesus the servant of him could be cured instantly. The centurion
said “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word,
and my servant will be healed.”
   Jesus raised the widow's son from the dead (Luke 7:11-18).
This miracle of Jesus is telling us that even death cannot do anything if God wills. If
we humans cannot do anything to contradict death, God himself is an opposite of
that, because death powerless to God. From crying to the dead, the relatives and
friends filled with happiness and joy because God did not allowed death to surpass
the son of the widow. How blessed he is!
   Jesus stilled the storm (Matthew 8:23-27).
This miracle of Jesus can be taken in a literal and metaphorical sense. The fear of the
apostles on that very moment were terminated through the power Jesus. This
miracle is like what is happening in our everyday life, our life is full of storms of
difficulties and problems but Jesus calms it daily through love, mercy and power.
 Jesus cured two demoniacs (Matthew 8:28-34).
It is a big paradox, because in the account of this miracle the demoniacs begged
Jesus while the people on that region also begged Him to leave them. The people
asked Jesus to leave them because they see Jesus as a pest that could kill their
opportunity and occupation. While see on this that demons fear the Divine
Providence of God.
The Following are the Lists of the other Miracles that Jesus Did

In the Old Testament we will see that even the prophets of God did able to manifest the power
of God through the miracles, like on how did Moses raised his staff and the red sea was divided
for the sake of the Chosen People of God. Another example of miracle in the Old Testament is
when Prophet Elijah ashamed the prophets of Baal and Asherah through the immediate burning
of the offering for the real God. And another is when Prophet Elisha did cure the leper through
the dirty Jordan River. All those miracles are not from the prophet themselves, but rather they
are just an instrument of God to manifest His great power. From the beginning even up to the
last time of the earthly life of Jesus here in world, we will see that it His life is full of wonders
and miracles
Our everyday life here in the world can also be counted as a miracle, because through the
power of God we are here living, breathing. Though life is saturated in multitudinous problems
and difficulties we see the miracle of God because we still see the positive part of it, though the
traumas we have are blinding our hearts and eyes, the light of the rainbow are still forcing us to
see the light and hope from God. Salvation History is rooted in no other than Jesus who
incarnate, did many miracles, suffered, died, but resurrected. Alleluia, Alleluia.
