PROBLEM DEFINITION AND SOLUTION
Problem statement
Current system is not efficient, hard to find reading materials and manage deposit
Information about reading materials are not always up to date
Library staff waste a lot of time to manage manual library and work not effective
Students are discouraged to use library, cannot borrow books outside of the library's
working hours
Library cannot generate any reports
Many employees are needed to manage manual library
Tracing a book is difficult
Information about issue/return of the books are not properly maintained
No central database can be created as information is not available in database
Advantages of LMS
Advantages of Library Management System:
Faster reading materials borrowing management (automatic reminders, quick
search by RFID, drop box stations) -all detail will be available on a click
Improvement of students engagement
Increasing of productivity of library staff and reduce the workload
Information about reading materials are available online and records are up to date
LMS can generate reports for management to made better business decisions
Management can decide based on LMS which books should be replace with new
ones and whether unissued material should be stock or not
