GENERAL
Intensive IFR flying within 20 NM radius up to lower limit of controlled airspace.
Helicopters must request start-up clearance.
Helicopters should operate to/from main rwy, integrating with fixed-wing traffic when required.
Due to drainage ditches, all fixed-wing acft entering/exiting the grass via twy A are to
use the concrete entry/exit points.
Extreme caution is necessary on paved and unpaved apron areas where surface markings may not always
be available to ensure obstacle clearance from parked acft.
Due to limited parking space, acft may infringe the twy strip. ATC will advise acft of
appropriate taxiing routes.
Rwy surface features a water ingestion area, known as the 'splash pit', approx 2001'/610m from the
rwy 21 threshold in the vicinity of the C intersection. This area is liable to collecting water and
may become icy in freezing conditions. Standard rwy surface conditions will be reported.
However, be advised that any reported contamination may be concentrated in this area.
Exercise caution on Apron 2 due to apron edges bounded by gravelled French drains. ACFT may be
required to shut down and push-back.
