Enhancement activity for module 1 (Use table for a clearer presentation)


1. Watching Movies relevant to historical development of science and technology.

(The croods 2013 movie)

2. Make a reflection out of the movies about its impact connecting to middle time

and modern time. (What do you think will happen if during ancient time does not

evolve or no development at all in Science and Technology from Palaeolithic era

(STONE AGE, IRON OR METAL AGES) 70-80 words)

I think that if technology wasn’t discovered or developed in the earlier years,

humans would have a hard time surviving. They will be stuck in their old beliefs,

restricting themselves from developing. Humans would have limited source of

food and water and find it hard to solve even the simplest problems. If no

technology was discovered, humans might have gone extinct as the chances of

survival are slim to none.

3. List accordingly thru events the Science and Technology happened in the movie

and determine the significance and impact during those time (Ancient time) and

(ECOLOGY). (Site ten (10) scenario then discuss it comprehensively).

 Fire – this helped the Croods see in the dark and gave them warmth during the

coldest times. In addition, it served as their protection from the vultures, an

instrument to control them, and to cook food.

 Trap – used to hunt animals for food without the need to chase them.

 Shoes – served as a protection from their feet to avoid injuries or wounds.


 Popcorn – the science behind this occurred when the seeds from the corn

combined with fire. As a result, popcorn was made and became a source of food.

 Long stick – used to walk on cliffs or over dangerous animals. This helped the

Croods cross safely without the fear of being bitten by wild creatures.

 Umbrella – protection from the rain or from the sun.

 Ride – a vehicle to move from one place to another in an easier and faster way.

 Snapshot (Picture) – a way of keeping memories similar to painting. But unlike

them, portraits were kept on stones.

 Shades – used to protect the eyes from the harmful rays of the sun.

 Belt – a tool used around the waist to tighten the clothing worn.

4. Determine the significance and impact of the development of science and

technology to the ENVIRONMENT TODAY relevant to those historical

development mentioned. (Discuss comprehensively 70-80 words )

As seen in the film, the tectonic plates shifted which caused changes in the

environment. Although it was a terrifying event, it is normal as changes in the

surrounding is essential to give way for a new ecosystem. It led to the discovery

of safer ecosystems that can provide better for human needs. Meanwhile, the

technology that were used in the film helped as a blueprint for the technology that

exist today. Without them, these items wouldn’t be further developed.


5. Write your answer in any clean sheet of paper eventually take a picture of it then

upload/send it to a zip folder. (Class President will make a zip folder for safety

saving/keeping)

6. Handwritten your output. (Copy and Answer)

8. Avoid erasure/superimpositions
