In this study, the researchers will use the descriptive survey method aimed at
coming-up with a base line data on the importance of scientific calculator, effects of
having or not having a scientific calculator and a conclusion on the necessity of a
calculator to a Accountancy and Business Management student.
This study will be conducted at Dagupan City. The research instrument is divided
into four (3) parts. Part I will require the student-respondents to give their profile in terms
of name, age, school and year level. Writing the personal information are optional. Part
II will be a (4) item checklist of pre-identified answers on how important is a scientific
calculator and effects on not having or having a calculator. Each item will have five (3)
options, to wit: Ultimately Agree, Agree and Disagree. And lastly, the researchers will
have to ask for permission if the respondents can still have the time for an interview.
Research Paradigm
To enhance the productivity of the study, the following techniques for obtaining
related information would be adopted:
1. Literature such as books, journals and related thesis will be reread concerning data
about scientific calculators.
2. The Internet may be accessed for related valuable information on the subject matter.
3. Questionnaires containing close questions will be prepared and administered in the
study area to obtain facts, opinions and views the ABM students.
These tactics will represent an indication of the methods used in the survey,
which will include the research design, population, sampling and sampling techniques,
data collection and analysis. The survey will comprise the evaluation of the importance
of a scientific calculator on students who are currently undertaking business courses,
and progressively, the study will be made-to-order to attain its anticipated objectives.
Data to be used in the survey process will be both primary and secondary. The
primary data will be mainly from questionnaires that will be administered at the study
area, as well as the related institutions. The primary data will be derived from books,
related thesis as well as published journals. The Internet could also be utilized.
Closed questionnaires will be administered. The respondents will be asked to
check the appropriate answer matching their preferred opinions. Other questions will
also require the respondents to outline their opinions. The data gathered through the
questionnaires will be analyzed by the use of statistics through the usage of charts and
any other method as recommended by the administrator.
