Title : Rumah Warisan Chenor
1.0 Introduction (location and historical value)
The small town of Chenor located in the state of Pahang is a town consisting of
several small villages. A century ago, Chenor, located on the banks of the Pahang river, was
famous and recorded in the history of the country as a port, a major stopover for water
transport and administrative center as well as a famous business when the river became the
main communication system in the state. Among the main villages are Kampung Kening,
Kampung Batu Bor, Kampung Sekara and Kampung Huma Luas. Chenor is also an area in
the heart of Pahang. Bukit Kertau was the point of origin for the mapping of Peninsular
Malaysia before the existence of GPS. Chenor in ancient times was a stopover place for
Sultan Abu Bakar, the Sultan of Pahang at that time. His Majesty the Sultan took a boat from
Kuala Lipis to Pekan and from Pekan to Kuala Lipis. He will stop in Chenor every time on the
trip and will be greeted by the villagers. As one of the early settlements in Pahang, Chenor
also produced famous warriors against the colonialists such as the legend of Pahlawan Bukit
Segumpal. According to the story of the people of Chenor, in the past, the people of Chenor
were also involved in helping Tok Gajah in the Klang War in Selangor.

2.0 Background of the building (Name, owner, and year establishment)
The house is named Rumah Warisan Chenor or now known as Warisan Campsite
Chenor. This house was built in 1895, almost 120 years this house was built located at C23,
Kampung Raja, 28100 Chenor, Pahang. This house was originally owned by Engku
Panglima Besar, Engku Mohamad Salleh Bin Engku Temenggong Mahmud at that time he
was a Member of the Federal Meeting of the Pahang State Government / Federated States
during the British era around 1912-1929 and his wife, Che Dayang Aminah binti Imam
Perang Hussin. According to the heir, Che Wan Ahmad Nizam bin Hj. Wan Ahmad Tajuddin,
this heritage house is now owned by his mother, YM Tok Puan Setia Engku Datin Hajjah
Andak binti Engku Wan Ahmad, as well as his father, YH Dato' Setia Amar Segara YM Dato'
Engku Hj. Wan Ahmad Tajuddin bin Engku Hj. Wan Hassan and uncle.
Engku Panglima Besar, Engku Mohamad Che Dayang Aminah binti Imam
Salleh Bin Engku Temenggong Mahmud Perang Hussin.

3.0 Building function
In the 1900-1960s, Rumah Warisan was used as a site for celebrations and
competitions such as martial arts, hard fruit picking, buffalo fighting, dance stage, and
various other traditional games of the people of Chenor at that time. To restore the function
of this house, the heirs have made the location of this Heritage House as a camping site
rental, motivational camp activities and livelihoods, raft house, boat rental for sightseeing
downstream of Sungai Pahang and others.

4.0 Architecture Style (Images of the building and surrounding_with explaination)
Rumah Warisan was built using the Pahang foyer house concept. Originally, there
were 5 parts in this house, namely Anjung, Serambi, Rumah Ibu, Kelek, and Dapur. Now
only have Rumah Ibu. The type of material used by this house is 100% from cengal wood or
known as cengal stone using the method of installing tanggam and pasung.

5.0 Conclusion
In conclusion, Rumah Warisan is very suitable to be used as a place to measure and
study for this subject because this Rumah Warisan has been abandoned for decades and is
well maintained until now. In addition, Rumah Warisan is also full of interesting history and
stories from the past. The location of Rumah Warisan in Chenor also has a lot of history,
heritage and relics from the ancient people of Chenor.
