Italian culture
Greeting
Shaking hands with eye contact and a smile is a form of greeting for someone we just
know. If you are already friends or have more relationships, you can greet them by
kissing your left and right cheeks. Italians tend to speak with prominent gestures and
facial expressions, so don't be surprised when you're talking to them and they look
very expressive.
Fashion style
Clothing has become one of the aspects of self that is considered and important for
Italians. Make sure you wear polite clothes while you are there. Clothes that are torn
are big no in Italy. If you plan to visit the church or religious sites there, make sure
you wear clothes that are not open (avoid sleeveless clothes and wear under-knee
subordinates). In addition, flip-flops are only used when on the beach. If you go to
other places, it's a good idea to use shoes or sandals
Eating Ethics
In Italy, people who invite or invite food in restaurants are people who pay for the
food. Then, try to put your hand on the table throughout the meal, not on your lap. In
addition, bread is not an appetizer in Italy. Bread is a food that is used to wipe or
clean the sauces that are still on your plate. Another interesting thing in Italy is that
punctuality is not important when you are invited to eat or invited to a party. You
may come 15 minutes late when invited to eat or 30 minutes when invited to the
party. When you are invited to eat by someone, remember that they must be the first
to do it all. Those who sit first, eat first, and wake up first when the meal is finished.
Business Ethics
Even though punctuality is not important at a banquet or party, timeliness is
something you should pay attention to if you are in a business meeting. Avoid
holding meetings in August because many companies are closed and employees are
off on the month.
3. CONCLUSION
According to the first article of the framework law no.482/99, following Art. 6 of
the Italia Constitution, the official language of Italy is Italian. It is estimated that there
are around 64 million native speakers while the total number of Italian speakers,
including those who use it as a second language, is around 85 million. Italian is often
spoken natively in a regional variety, not to be confused with regional languages and
Italian minorities; however, the formation of a national education system has caused a
decline in variations in the language used throughout the country. during the 20th
century. Standardization was further expanded in the 1950s and 1960s due to economic
growth and the rise of mass media and television (RAI country publishers helped set
Italian standards).
The Italian state, as a step to protect religious freedom, gave up the share of
income tax to recognized religious communities, under a regime known as Eight per
thousand. Donations are permitted for the Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and Hindu
communities; However, Islam is still excluded, because no Muslim community has
signed an agreement with the Italian state. Taxpayers who do not want to finance a
religion contribute their share to the country's welfare system.
