ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IAP MEMBERSHIP
The following criterion is extracted from the IAP Articles of Association and details the requirement for application to the various IAP
Memberships.
AFFILIATE
Application Fee (Non-refundable): Rs.1500/- (One-time Application fee)
No person shall be eligible to become an Affiliate of the Institute unless he has been;
Declared to be successful in the second year of the five-year Architectural education program from a recognized Institution
and/or declared successful in the final examination leading to a degree/diploma in architecture from an Institution in Pakistan
recognized by the PCATP.
Provided that, this Category of Membership shall be without voting rights; and
Provided further that, the validity of this Category shall be limited only to a period of 05 (five) years from the date on which the
applicant becomes eligible to successfully enter the third year of his educational course in a five-year architectural education
program in a PCATP recognized architectural education institution and renders to the Institute a one time prescribed fees of
such Membership; and
Provided further that, the validity of this Category of Membership will end 02 (two) years from the date of graduation (i.e. a
total of 05 years), after which he will be eligible to apply for the Associate Membership of the Institute
ASSOCIATE
Application Fee (Non-refundable): Rs. 2500/- (Annual membership dues Rs.2000 + Processing Fee Rs.500)
No person will be eligible to become an Associate of the Institute unless he is 21 years of age and a citizen of Pakistan and is;
A member of a national section of the International Union of Architects; or
Holder of a degree or diploma in architecture from an institution recognized by the Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners
and possesses 2 (two) years post qualification relevant practical experience AND
Registered as an Architect with the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners.

All complete applications must be submitted through the local chapter in your area. The membership fee should be sent in the form of a
Crossed Cheque or Bank Draft/Pay Order made payable to your local Chapter title as listed below:

LIFETIME FEE PAYMENT OPTION FOR IAP ASSOCIATE MEMBERS:
The terms of the offer as approved by the National Council:
65-current age= years x Rs.2,000= outstanding dues with 20% discount
e.g., for a member who is 48 years old, the dues shall be:
65-48= 17x1000= Rs.34,000 – 6,800 (20% discount) = Rs 27,200
Members should also note that:
There is no such thing as a ‘life time membership’ of IAP. It is a onetime lifetime fee payment option
In order to process the application, a copy of the CNIC of the applicant is required
After the processing of the application is complete, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement letter from The National Council
for paying the lifetime fee. No member will receive any ‘certificate’ in this regard.
All previous dues of the member should be clear.
