Cantilever Retaining Wall Stability Analysis

This document provides input data for analyzing the stability of a cantilever retaining wall with a 500 psf surcharge load. The wall has a stem height of 20 feet, footing thickness of 2 feet, and footing embedment of 6 feet. Simple Rankine earth pressure theory is used to calculate the lateral earth pressure coefficients of Ka = 0.333 and Kp = 3. Forces and moments are calculated, resulting in a safety factor against sliding of 1.8 and against overturning of 3.29. The maximum and minimum bearing pressures are also checked.
