What similarity and difference have you noticed in terms of the belief in God of the three
Abrahamic religions?
-The three abrahamic religions have similarities and differences in terms of origin, core
beliefs, morality, purpose of life, destiny, and views on women. In terms of similarities in origin
the three abrahamic religions developed during a time of turmoil and social inequalities
( Egyptian enslavement of the Jews, Roman colonization of the Christians, and the economic
dominance of the Quraysh tribe in Mecca. The story of creation is also shared between the three
religions with the universe and the first man and woman being created by God, but they were
tempted by evil and were banished from paradise. In order to restore humanity’s relationship
with God they need to follow God’s commandments. The difference among the three abrahamic
religion is that Judaism was Formed at around 3500 B.C.E. in Israel, Christianity was formed at
around 33 C.E. in Palestine, and Islam was Formed at around 622 C.E. in Mecca found in the
Arab Peninsula.  In terms of similarities in core beliefs the three abrahamic religions believe in
one God. The difference among the three abrahamic religion is that Judaism believes in the
oneness of the substance and form of God, Christianity believes in the Triune God : there is one
God but three divine persons: Father, Jesus Christ the Son, Holy Spirit, and Islam believes in the
oneness of the substance and form of God. In terms of similarities in morality the three
abrahamic religions believe that the basis of morality is on the worship of one God. The
difference among the three abrahamic religion is that Judaism morality is based on the covenant
between Jews and God : that as God’s chosen people they have to follow His commandments
specifically the Ten Commandments, Christianity morality is based on the Ten commandments
and in following the footsteps of Jesus Christ, and Islam morality is manifested in exhibiting
righteousness and piety.  In terms of similarities in purpose of life the three abrahamic religions
worship and serve God, follow God’s will, and show this love of God through helping those who
are in need, becoming worthy caretakers of everything that God has created and in assisting in
the implementation of God’s divine plan. They don’t have differences in the category of purpose
of life. They don’t have similarities in the category of destiny. The difference among the three
abrahamic religion is that Judaism believes in predestination which means that God decides on
the person’s basic lifespan, wealth and opportunities but the free will that God gave to human is
the deciding factor, Christianity believe that it is humanity’s destiny to be saved, and Islam
believes that even the actions and decisions made out of free will are still God’s will. In terms of
similarities in views on women the three abrahamic religions treat women subordinate to men.
They only differ in the levels of subordination. In Judaism, women are excluded from priesthood
and from numerous religious duties.  The difference among the three abrahamic religion is that
Judaism women are excluded from priesthood and other religious duties, Christianity women are
excluded from priesthood, and Islam Women are required to strictly veil themselves.

DO THIS!
Understanding the parallels between faiths is a critical component in countering the myth of
religious difference. Religion or a comparable form of religion impacts the foundations of many
communities and determines their value systems. All other faiths have compassion and
knowledge, and they constitute a significant component of their commonality.

SUMMARIZE WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED!

1.Write two beliefs that are common in the three Abrahamic religions.
-Since of their roots, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are referred to as Abrahamic faiths.
God formed a covenant, or pact, with Abraham, according to all Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
This covenant ensured that Christians would continue to believe in God and worship Him, and
that this practice would be passed down through generations.
2.Differentiate the belief about predestination in the three Abrahamic religions.
-Judaism believes in predestination which means that God decides on the person’s basic
lifespan, wealth and opportunities but the free will that God gave to humans is the deciding
factor. Christianity believes that it is humanity’s destiny to be saved. But accepting that salvation
is up to us since God gave us that free will. God has the best plan for us but our actions and
decisions will determine whether God’s plan will materialize or not. Islam believes that even the
actions and decisions made out of free will are still God’s will. Muslims believe that if
something is not meant to happen it will not happen even if we try so hard to make it happen. In
same matter, Muslims believe that if something is meant to happen it will happen no matter how
hard we try to prevent it from happening.

APPLY WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED!

-We do not require boundaries; rather, we require equality. ensuring that everyone has an
equal chance to make the most of their life and talents It is also the concept that no one should
have fewer opportunities in life because of how they were born, where they came from, what
they believe, or if they have a disability. Everyone is regarded equal and is treated in the same
manner. As a result, people in society will have the freedom to socialize with others, exchange
their expertise, and participate in activities that can benefit society. Equality increases
confidence, productivity, and socialization. It also contributes to economic prosperity.
