ACTIVITY 12: LET’S WRITE IT ON!
The COVID-19 Pandemic has been going on for almost two years here in our country. Many lives have
been taken away from us. Many sacrifices have been made. Many people lose their job. Many children
experienced poverty and hunger. Some teenagers also commit suicide due to depression and problems
from home. Amidst the problems let's continue to fight until freedom has been given to us. You've been
a fighter from the start so be a fighter until the end.
For us to be able to end this pandemic we need to follow the health protocols such as wearing face
masks, self-quarantine when exposed to the virus, disinfecting the things that are exposed to the public,
washing our hands, and developing good hygiene. We need to practice social distancing and avoiding
mass gatherings. We need to consider the risk factors that might affect us and the people around us.
This pandemic taught us a lot of things but what struck me the most is that it taught us how to be more
cautious when it comes to our health. It taught us to give importance to what we have. It taught us to
make decisions and sacrifices for ourselves and for our families. It gave us time to reflect on ourselves,
past mistakes, and our decisions in life. It also taught us to know the importance of physical and mental
health.
This pandemic has caused anxieties, fears, and uncertainties. But we are capable, strong, and resilient.
We may not be able to control the situation but we can control ourselves: our thoughts, actions, and
choices. There is one quote that had reflected our situation during this pandemic - "It might be stormy
now but rain doesn't last forever." We might be struggling now but always remember these won't last
long. This is a big chance for us to unite as one, to support each other, to have faith in ourselves, and to
have hope that this will soon be put to an end. It is the right time for our eyes and mind to be open to
such crucial matters. We must not be blinded by our fear and lose hope. Because at the end of the day
all we need is hope and strength. Hope that it will eventually get better and strength to hold on till it
does. And while we are waiting; whatever hardship, challenges, indecisions, and fears that we are
facing, we just need to remember that these too shall pass.
