WHAT DID I GET FROM TOPIC 1, INTRO TO HISTORY?

Directions: Answer (in your own words) the following items in not more than 4 sentences.

1. What definition of History did you understand the most? Why?

The definition in which Historia or History is known as the account of the past of a person or of a
group of people through written documents and historical evidences. This defined the history in the most
explicit way and we know that most of historical events are written into documents for us in the present
know and learn about it.

2. Do you believe in the mantra, "no document, no history? Why?

Yes, because without written evidence that can prove a certain event then it cannot be regarded as
a historical event. These written documents that survive from the past will serve as an answer and will
pass on to the next generation.

3. For you as a student, What is importance of studying history? Why is it included in the General
Education as one of your subjects?

We may learn throughout history how civilizations, institutions, philosophies, governments,

cultures and technology have been created, functioned and altered. Also studying history will provide us
students a more in-depth knowledge and a better critical thinking – something that we can carry
throughout the rest of our education.
