Chapter 2 Activity:

1. How would you develop your sense of nationalism and patriotism?


 By bringing unity in community and also in our country. Just be law abiding, pay
your taxes, never support the government blindly, but be alert and critical and
vote responsibly. Be proud of your country; raise your flag for the peace and
pride of every responsible citizen in your country. Be one to have a loyalty and
appreciate by buying those local products. Keep your surroundings clean for
fresh surrounding leads to a healthy atmosphere.
2. The Good Citizenship Values base on the 1987 Philippine Constitution had been
clustered into four areas. Choose any one of the four clusters and explain it.
 We Filipinos believe in the supernatural power of God who created the heaven
and earth. In a Filipino family life the arrangement of strong faith practices at
home such as praying before having meal, praying of the rosary etc. the value of
respect for life, children may grow with dignity and right values and appreciating
the value of life . Expresses one’s spiritual beliefs while respecting the spiritual
beliefs of others.
3. Why are you proud of being a Filipino? Choose any five (5) of the national
symbols that make our country known to other countries. Draw or paste a picture
of this national symbol in your output and sent back in our Google class.
 Because of the humanity of Filipino, caring touch of Filipino doctors, care givers
and nurses. Also, being hospitality because of the heartwarming generosity of
Filipinos and the way they trait foreigners or tourist as our visitors to have a good
celebration or welcoming them. We Filipinos can be proud of our creativity, our
adaptability, wonderful culture, our optimistic attitude, colorful heritage and have
our strong fighting spirit. It will show that we are also most compassionate,
selflessly eager and always ready to help anybody in need. We can all be very
proud of being respectful. This gesture of pagmamano is so deeply ingrained in
our culture that it’s become the subject of ads and the greatest symbol of
affection in the family. Filipino venture out of the country and will stop nothing to
arrive at their dreams. Proud to the beautiful and really attractive nature wonders
all over the country (tourist spot).

4. The Filipino Civic Code was formulated to ensure that patriotism can be
developed. Explain how the following can be developed. Explain how the
following can help foster patriotism.

a. Reverence for heroes


- Thus when we look back to our history, we will develop a sense of
awe for our ancestors who did much to fight imperialism and our hearts
go to hero who secures the independent from outsiders. By
developing sense of unity and create more peaceful, loved our
country, secure Nation to become stronger.

b. Respect for law and authority


- By teaching children with good manners, whether it be psychological
or how to practice respect fir the law, as they grow up they will be able
to learn about rule of laws and authority. Those who respect the law
have general reasons to obey it; their reason is their attitude and it is
morally permissible to respect the law in this way.  Teach them to obey
at home.

c. Justice and Righteousness


- When person follows the laws of their religion and it will have a justice
by God's order to make fair not being unfair. It will help foster
patriotism, if entails favoring one's compatriots' interests over those of
other peoples, then patriotism is eliminated by justice and
righteousness. It will depending on what you mean by righteousness
and what you mean by patriotism, any time unifying positives are
supported by nation over all the people of the nation gain more
reasons to respect and support their country.
