The purpose of the project
The aim of the project is to familiarize students with the robot program system (like ABB
RobotStudio) for creating robotic stations, programming robots in off-line mode, simulating the
trajectory of robot movement, collision tests and path optimization.
General description of the task
Design a robotics station for the selected type of industrial robot with functionality corresponding to
the basic purpose of the selected robot. Using the capabilities of ABB RobotStudio conduct a
complete simulation of the robot's operation.
Important detailed tasks of the project
1. Make a choice of an industrial robot (each student chooses a different robot type).
2. Download the available documentation from the robot manufacturer's website.
3. On the basis of documentation, define dimensions of individual kinematic sections, the range of
allowable rotations and displacements of all connection of moving robot.
4. Make a simplified drawing (diagram) showing all of the elements of the kinematic chain.
5. Propose the equipment of the robotic station.
6. Choose the correct gripper or tool for the robot tasks. Describe the selected gripper or tool in the
descriptive section of the project.
7. Create paths that perform the task for the selected robot.
8. Verify the working and collision space.
9. Create documentation for the program. The created project must be attached to the case study
(appendix).
10. Using the created program pay attention to the working space and collision of the robot in terms
of the safety issues of work at the robotics station.
11. Prepare a vase study and documentation of the work performed.
