SYNCHRONIZATION PANEL TESTING REPORT


DATE: 13TH January, 2021

CONTRACTOR: SCANIA EA LTD/ MEMTECH ELECTRICAL SERVICES LIMITED


In reference to email dated 7th January, 2021. By Mr. Fredrick Wayumba in regards to the
synchronization panel functionality. Below is a chronology of site visits, complaints and
correction measures undertaken to ensure full utility of the system.

Day Issue Description Comments


Visited site on complain that 280Kva Visit by Memtech electrical services
generator does not run but its set as identified that the Gensys controller had
the master generator logged MCCB fail alarm and 400Amps
Synchronization panel MCCB tripped-
Referred issue to Board manufacturer
and scheduled a visit.

Visit by Memtech and board Established breaker was tripped as
manufacture; PCTL Automation to earlier noted, reset the breaker by
address 400Amps breaker trip issue. removing motor operator and manually
resetting the breaker. Tested the system
2 ok
Permanent remote start command to Joint visit by Schneider electric, Memtech
3 the DG Sets and PCTL automation. Issue rectified
4&5 Reported 800Amps MCCB in
On diagnosis it was identified that MCCB
Permanent ON position
loading relay had weld-shut on ON
position causing the MCCB to be
permanently ON. Rectified this failure by
upgrading existing 3Amps loading relays
to 10Amps.

After the above corrections the system has been put under several tests for functionality by isolation of
mains supply power and worked ok.
