III. Procedure
A. Preparation
1. The teacher greets the students.
2. The teacher checks the students’ attendance.
3. The teacher implements classroom management.
B. Review
1. The teacher asks the students about the previous lesson.
2. The teacher recalls the lesson by presenting a paragraph and asks the students to
identify the general and specific expressions.
C. Motivation
D. Strategy (4A’s)
1. Activity
 Divide the class into two groups.
 Each group will be given an envelope containing jumbled words where
they are tasked to arranged to form a statement or sentence.
 The students are given 10 minutes to answer and present their work.
 The first group to finish will earn additional 20 points.
2. Analysis
 After the activity, the teacher discusses the question;
- What are the highlighted words in the sentences?
- What are these words and phrases called?
- How are these words in the sentences used?
3. Abstraction
 The teacher discusses the grammatical signals on cause-effect and
emphasis.
- There are many ways to develop and connect ideas with the use of
transition signals or expressions. Transition signals create powerful
links between sentences and paragraphs to improve the flow of
information across the whole text. They also help to carry over a
thought from one sentence to another, from one idea to another and
from one paragraph to another. These are joined by a period or
semicolon, and are followed by a comma.
