Quantitative Methods

This 3-credit quantitative methods course provides an introduction to quantitative research methods and associated statistical techniques. Upon completion, students will be able to graph and analyze economic data, explain concepts of random variables and probability distributions, estimate unknown population quantities and conduct simple regression analysis. The course uses a blended teaching approach combining elements of group work, individual eLearning, and problem-based learning through videos, case studies and demonstrations. Students are assessed through oral/written tests, research papers/projects, direct observation, rubrics and demonstrations.
