Home Alone is a comedy film released in 1990. Home Alone was directed by Chris Columbus,
while the script was written by John Hughes. The film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin
McCallister, a child from a wealthy family. Kevin accidentally left his family on vacation to
Paris, France, for the Christmas holidays. While he is spending time at home alone, he
accidentally meets two stupid thieves who want to rob his house. So, to protect his house from
the thieves, Kevin set a trap for them.
Evaluation :
The film "HOME ALONE" tells the story of a young child who is accidentally abandoned by his
family when the holiday season arrives. This incident made him have to stay at home alone. The
story begins with the McCallisters preparing for their vacation. His youngest son Kevin is a bully
to his siblings and cousins. The person who bothers him the most is Buzz, his older brother.
When his family was busy, Buzz always bullied Kevin. Not only being bullied, Buzz always
blamed Kevin. This resulted in Kevin being punished in the room. In the room, he was angry and
prayed for his entire family.
The next morning, the McCallisters rush over and forget about Kevin. They immediately left and
realized when they arrived at their destination that Kevin was left behind. They try to go back
home. At home, Kevin woke up from his sleep and realized that his family was gone. His wish
was granted, and kevin was very happily. Then, he did what he wanted to do when there was no
family around. Its main target is the Buzz room. There he really made a mess. Jumping into bed,
watching TV, eating junk food, picking up Buzz's savings.
Continuing with Christmast Eve, he overhears two thieves named Marv and Harry trying to steal
his house. Realizing this, he also wanted to do something. Before returning home, he took the
time to talk to scary Marley. It turns out that people are not scary, they tend to be fun. Kevin was
happy, because one fear was gone.
After leaving the church for Christmast Eve, Kevin immediately implemented his plan to deal
with the thief. Armed with the equipment available at home, Kevin set many traps to punish the
thief. And the thief was caught in Kevin trap. After that, the thief was arrested by the police and
his family arrived home. His brother who often bully and blamed Kevin became proud of him.
His father and mother who only saw him as a bad boy and now they were proud of him.
Interpretation :
The acting of all the cast is excellent, The character development is also good, the film is really
fun too and make me laugh really hard.
Summary
I think this film is a good comedy film, and from this film we can learn how important our
family is. and this film can also be watched by anyone.
