MUE 731 - Music Management and Supervision

ASSIGNMENT 3

The research on school organization is clear: in general, small schools yield better results than
large ones. This suggests that educators at large schools can help more students learn by creating subunit
schools within a school. Moreover, studies on teacher collaboration and teaming have shown that students
benefit when teachers work together to promote student learning. Some schools in rural areas, of course,
are too small, unable to provide a reasonable range of curricular or extracurricular offerings. But while
educators in large schools can generally devise ways to break up into smaller units, those in small schools
can't usually do much about their limited resources although the Internet now provides students with
learning opportunities that were not previously available.

Of course, most school staff inherit a pre-existing organizational structure. For many educators,
certain aspects of the school's organization, such as the number of classes in the master schedule in a high
school or the houses in a middle school are part of the school's very identity. This reality can make
altering the school's organization slow and difficult. Still, educators should consider the following aspects
of the school to determine which ones, if any, should be changed.

At the elementary-school level, units are usually instructional teams or grade-level groups, in
which teachers work with students from classes other than their own homerooms. For example, three 4th
grade teachers might choose to work together to teach all 100 children in the grade. Many middle schools
have houses in place, which might be led for instance by four teachers, each representing core curricular
areas, working together with a group of 100 to 125 students and when these are multi-age groups and
students remain with the same teachers over several years, teachers and students grow to know one
another particularly well. Many high schools establish schools within a school to create smaller and more
personal learning communities. Some of these are grade based, whereas others are organized around an
instructional focus, such as technology or the arts.

According to an interview that was carried out previously, the circumstances of one
administrative field of a school or government official will be depending on how one's treatment is
towards each other. For example, during the interview, there were couples of stories that were told and
shared by the respected respondents. If the office were keen enough to a person if the person had been
wandering there for a while. As a colleague that had been based in a settlement of such a working
environment, the respondent told that when the person is new or a rookie in the area or field, the
environment was much likely to be a little stiff as the senior colleague would be very pushy and
intimidating. It was also stressed by the respondents that the administrative or even the head would push
their way in as they crave for having the winning end of any competitions that they could enter. Moreover,
there are some respected title holders from the management field who are not responsible towards the title
that had been given to them. In other words, the attitude of letting go of their colleagues or subordinates is
very likely to be a norm for some of them. Some of the organisations are being supervised thoroughly
where there is the lack of suitable teachers on their syllabus when teaching. For example, in the context of
music, percussionists are not having an adequate teacher instead are having a tough time being taught by
other teachers who are not supervising the right syllabus. In a cliche, there are the ones who are
irresponsible towards what they hold, but amidst the unreliable associates that they have, the respondents
also submitted her interview by stating that there are some good management of the whole organisation
which can be seen clearly the functionality of their workforces in intervening more quality on their
academics system.

In addition, there are more problems that were stated by the respondents. There are teachers or
imported instructors who are not being paid diligently as how they should be which can actually be acted
under the law from the pursuant of labour law. It is kind of a nuisance for some teachers as the academic
organisation also has passionate teachers which shows their spirit in supporting the academic growth of
the school. Henceforth, whenever there are feedback from the respected staff that had been working for
the academic organization or vice versa, it shows the incompetence of the management and the
bureaucracy.

In accordance with the recent phenomenon where the global pandemic spiked out through the
globe, online learning intervention was carried out in order to replace the traditional educational
transmission as an initiative to combat the spread of the covid-19 virus while having students gather their
knowledge. Currently the head of the school is giving a very good response towards the online learning
sanctuary. They are achieving astonishing results for students especially from an extracurricular
perspective. It was told that they were very optimistic upon their students to achieve an extraordinary
extra curricular result amidst the current circumstances of covid-19. However, some students feel pushed
to go through the new online mechanism of learning as the students need to realize the plan of the
administrative board and need to bust their senses to find a way to give good achievement and results.
Conclusion

A school's organizational structures can go a long way toward promoting student learning. At all
instructional levels, the school's organizational pattern can materially affect the manner in which students
and teachers interact. All of these schoolwide structures should be designed to maximize teacher and
student flexibility, encourage in-depth teaching and learning, and integrate as many different resources as
possible as the boundary of having to cope with the new norms of the integrated systematic approach
upon technology and online learning nowadays. Problems and solutions would need to be more
comprehensive in order to have a much better view of arrays inwards, prospering the aspects of
management and also having the support for the academic system. School’s management needed to be
more firm as they are the core of the founding educational perspective for the students by taking care of
their welfare and also educational area. The management of a school needed to be a smooth sailing
journey as it needs to comprehend many things for example, the education, the extra curricular, the events
and many more specifically, having to face the global breakdown from this pandemic outbreak.
