Manager - Technology Planning

Position Summary
Evaluation and induction of new wireless Access platforms in TCL network
Major Responsibilities
• Provide the organization the mid-term roadmap on Wireless access technologies.
• Timely introduction of Technology platforms thru' RFI, RFP process in line with business
coverage, capacity, product features & SLA requirements and enable business with new product
line opportunities
• To evaluate Technologies and Platforms to address TCL's current & future roadmap for
Wireless Access Network requirements, meet Business KPIs & Goals and provide competitive
edge in the market in ref. to both cost, quality and customer experience.
• Evaluation, Recommendations and Engineering guideline, vendor negotiations and contractual
terms for SLA management and delivery of unique features, implementation & support strategies,
etc.
• Evaluation of RAN feature & management features
• Preparation of supporting documents and agreement with SA, SD, OPS, and vendor on
Contract terms like support scope, R& R policy, Training and delivery of unique features linked
with contract.
• Define KPI, agreement SA/SD/WI team for implementation and operation guidelines.
• Agreement with vendors for seamless backward integration of new platforms to make sure cost
of inducting new platforms from existing vendors are achieved by spending very less cost on IT
integration.
• Tools & operational efficiency: -Enhance existing Wireless Access platforms by inducting new
features to improve operational efficiency by working with vendors. Identify challenges in the
wireless access network and work on technical solution to enhance customer experience and
network quality.

Skill set requirement


• Sound knowledge in Wireless standards: LTE, LTE advanced,5G, 802.11ac/ax, Satellite
communication.
• Experience in SDN
• Experience in Big data analytics, cloud computing.
• Experience in Fixed Wireless Access technology evaluation.
• Experience is Radio product testing
• Sound knowledge in RF Communications basics (Radio Frequency communication)
• Experience in basic ip networking protocols
• Experience in RF testing using -
o Spectrum analyzer
o RF power meter
o Network analyzer
• Testing - L2 , L3 protocols
• Testing of management features- using Web interface and CLI etc
• EMI/EMC Testing
• Environmental and Reliability testing
• Protocols- tftp, ftp, snmp v2c, snmpV3, TR69 etc
