5. INFORMATION ON TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

The Machines are covered by warranty, as required by general conditions of sale. If the
Machine should stop working smoothly or parts become faulty according to the cases
indicated by the warranty, the Manufacturer, after having made appropriate verifications on the
Machine, will repair or replace the faulty parts.

Work performed by the user to alter the machine, without explicit written authorisation of the

1. OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The DSU 500/700 is a dust suppression unit. This machine utilises a fine water spray to
capture dust particles in the atmosphere and provide dust control.!

2 MACHINE DESCRIPTION

PAR. DESCRIPTION
2 Main Components

2. MAIN COMPONENTS

The machine is made up of a Blower and Spray Systems, a Column Support, a Filter Unit with
Valves (optional electrical component) and a Control Board, a supply pump (optional) and an
inlet solenoid valve (optional).

2.1 (Unit 1)
Blower and Spray
The ventilation and spray unit comprises a pipe of a certain size and shape able to
accommodate a motor the shaft of which is connected to a fan. The fan in question generates
the required thrust for the purpose. The water spray nozzles, instead, are situated around the
cast aluminium spray rail.

2.2 (Unit 2)
Support
The dust suppression cannon is installed on a carriage featuring also the raising and slewing
MACHINE DESCRIPTION
components. These devices, which can be controlled in either remote or manual mode, serve
to adjust the angle of the cannon and to turn the cannon at an angle selected and configured
at the user’s own discretion (optional).

2.3 (Unit 3)
Filter with valves
The cannon is fitted with a water filter that prevents impurities from clogging the nozzles. A
valve attached with a Cam-Lock hydraulic coupling selects the rim to be used. The valve lever
allows you to select either the internal or the external rim, or both. Capacity depends therefore
on the number of rims you wish to use and on the operating pressure, which should not
exceed 35 bar at any time.

2.4 (Unit 4)
The control board allows you to power the fan motor and the cannon motor (optional). The
control board features all the controls needed to operate the machine in a proper and correct
manner.

! Before putting the machine into service you should read this manual carefully
and make sure you understand all the instructions
! You must take all necessary measures.
! Record all maintenance in the table.

The WLP500/700 requires the following maintenance:

" Water filter: check the condition of the filter before starting up the machine. Undo the
respective cap to access the filter. Clean the filter with a jet of water. Any signs of
rust indicate poor quality of the water. Remove any residue of organic substances,
such as small algae, using neutral soap. Do not use cleaning solvents as these can
ruin the o-rings on the filters. You need to turn the filter cap anti-clockwise to undo it.
Make sure the filter is properly in place before closing the cap again. Check the
condition of the o-ring seals before putting the machine into service.
" Cleaning the nozzles: remove the nozzles using a 16 mm socket spanner. You need
to turn the nozzles anti-clockwise to undo them. Remove the o-ring seals and soak
the nozzles in a solution containing domestic scale remover. Any traces of iron oxide,
lime scale or other form of oxidization on the surface of the nozzles are attributable to
poor quality of the water.
" Rotation system: Check the roller bearing on a weekly basis to make sure it is well

MAINTENANCE
greased. Unplug the machine and turn OFF the control board, then lubricate the
roller bearing with universal NLGI 2 lithium grease. Remove any traces of mould or
other substances that could damage the system.
