What is Quality Control (QC)?
7
Evaluation of test data and its application
To the control of textile process, raw materials, intermediate products and
final products.
QC is technique known as an industrial management technique by means
of which product of uniform acceptable quality is manufactured.
However, neither TT or QC alone can serve fully the textile technician, the
mill, or the industry, but together they form a very strong team with
dynamic possibilities.
Testing provides the background and data, and QC applies the results.

Testing Methods
Aimed at testing the quality of different materials.
Different principles and instruments are employed to test a single sample criterion.
Hence, it is important to standardize the testing methods or procedure.
Organizations involved in developing textile testing standards includes the following:
SON : Standard Organization of Nigeria.
ASTM: American Society of Testing & Materials.
ISO: International Organization for Standardization.
BSI: British Standards Institute.
BIS: Bureau of Indian Standards.
AATCC: American Association of Textile Chemists & Colorants.
Among others.
