In the past, all pupils at


Engiish schools wore a
uniform. They were all the
same style and were usually
quite ugly. It wasn't so bad for
the boys. They usually wore a
shirt and tie, trousers, ajacket
(called ablazer), and socks
and shoes. They also wore
caps, and the young boys
wore short trousers. But the
uniforms for girls were awdul!
They wore skirts but they many schoolchildren in england don't have to
