SOP FOR 

CLEANING OF INSTRUMENTATION LAB

1.0 OBJECTIVE

1.1 To lay down a standard procedure for the cleaning of instrument laboratory.

2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This procedure is applicable for the cleaning of instrument lab.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 Officer and above Quality Control.

4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY

4.1 Head -Quality Control.

5.0 PROCEDURE

5.1 Preparation of SOP

5.1.1 The general cleaning of QC laboratory is carried out by the housekeeping department as per Doc. No.

5.1.2 The disinfectant schedule used is as per the Doc No.

5.1.3 The general cleaning records is maintained by the housekeeping department, which is verified by the QC
Manager.

5.1.4 Switch off the instruments before cleaning.

5.1.5 Clean the space behind the instruments and corners of the workbenches by using vacuum cleaner.

5.1.6 Clean the instruments top, computer etc with dry lint free-cloth.

5.1.7 Clean the top of workbenches with dry lint free cloth.

5.1.8 Collect the cleaned waste and put it into the dustbin provided.
5.1.9 Do not disturb the electrical wiring and other solution draining connections while cleaning the
instruments.
