for Using Pcoder English
Pcoder is a tool using Microsoft Excel to help you matching place names (Township/Village Tract/Village) and
inserting Place codes automatically according to the MIMU’s Place Names1 and Codes.

The Pcoder English is to be used for place names written in Roman script (called “English”).
Installing Pcoder in Microsoft Excel (version 2003 and higher)
Pcoder အား Microsoft Excel တြင္ ထည့္သြင္းျခင္း (version 2003 and higher)
Enable the Macro.
1. Excel တြင္ Macro အား Enable ျပဳလုပ္ထားရပါမည္၊

Hit the Enable Content button
2. Copy the folder of Pcoder "C:\Program Files".
Pcoder Folder အား "C:\Program Files" ေအာက္တြင္ copy ကူးပါ။
3. Double click on the file named
"Load-P-Coder.xls". "Load-P-Coder.xls" အေပၚတြင္ "Left Click" ႏွစခ

4. You can see "Add-Ins" tab in the Menu Bar and it is successfully installed. Menu Bar တြ င ္ "Add-Ins"

Points to be noted before using the Pcoder
Pcoder အသုံးမျပဳမီ လိုက္နာသင့္သည့္အခ်က္မ်ား
- Your data file must be in the Excel Format. The order of place names should be (1) Township, then (2)
Village Tract and (3) Village and this title row should be at the first row of the sheet (row 1). သင့္ Pcode

- While using Pcoder, it may indicate "Not responding" if the data rows are too many (more than 1000
records). Please do not stop it. It will be successfully done in few minutes.

- If the data rows have blank fields (e.g. Township name or Township pcode), the matching process could
be stopped at this place. So you should do sorting the data by (Township/Village Tract/Village) before
using Pcoder not to have blank lines between data rows.

Using Pcoder (Pcoder အသုံးျပဳျခင္း)
1. Click on the P-Coder which can be found in the "Add-Ins"

2. Township Level Matching
First, you have to match the township name. Do the THREE steps as mention in the figure.
After processing, you can have the MIMU names and Pcodes with separated columns.

3. Matching Names
Pcoder can automatically match the place names which is 80% match with the MIMU name. For some
cases, you have to select the best appropriate name from the list as shown in the figure below.

To match the name of villages/wards as the same procedure of matching village tract.

To match the camps' names, you have to match the Township's names first to get the Township Pcodes.
