Comparison between R.A. 5734 and R.A. 9292

The amendment of the previous RA 5734 "The Electronics and

Communications Engineering Act of the Philippines" is the Republic Act

9292 "Electronics Engineering Law of [Link] date approval of RA 5734

is June 21, 1969 while the RA 9292 is April 17, 2004. In the Republict Act

9292 were few major changes if we compare it in the RA 5734 such as

the classification of licensed to Electronics Engineers and the new board

exam. With the new law, most ECE under RA 5734 in order for them to

practice their profession they need to do conversion of their license.

One of the changes in the new law is that Electronics and

Communications Engineering would now be called Electronic

Engineering, they remove the Communications but it would still be part

of the ECE curriculum. And you cannot affix the ECE title on your name if

you did not pass in the licensure exam therefore you need to pass the

licensure exam so that you can affix the ECE title on your name.
The highlights of the R.A 9292 was the way of choosing the board

members, the taking of the license examinations, the specifications of

fields of the ECE and the transition of the name Electronics

Communication Engineer into Electronics Engineering
