S P E CI F I C A T I O N S

PROJECT: “Perimeter Fence”


LOCATION: Deca Homes South Bacolod, Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City, Neg. Occidental

SECTION 1. GENERAL CONDITIONS


1.1 SCOPE OF WORK
A. The work under this project unless otherwise specified shall be the construction of the Perimeter
Fence, located at Deca Homes South Bacolod, Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City , Neg.
Occidental.

B. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS


a) Plans and specifications are intended to coordinate with such other mutually and
anything shown and called for in one but in the other shall be as shown and specified.
b) Figured dimensions on the drawings shall be followed. Large scaled drawings shall take
precedence over small drawings. Conflicting drawing or measurements shall be referred
to the Architect or the Foreman-in-charge for corrections or clarifications as the case
maybe before any judgment is made.
c) All measurements shall be verified in the field or job site before any adjustment is made.

SECTION 2. CLEARING, EXCAVATIONS, FILLING AND GRADING


2.1 CLEARING
A. The building site shall be cleared for a distance of two (2) meters in all directions outside of the
building site.

2.2 STAKES AND BATTER BOARDS


A. The building site shall be staked accurately on established grades, after which approval by the
Architect shall be secured before any excavation is done.
B. Basic batter boards and references marks as directed by the Architect shall be erected at such
places where they will not be disturbed during the construction of foundation.

2.3 EXCAVATION
A. Necessary excavations for foundation shall be made to grades indicated on the drawings.
B. No footing shall rest on fill, where excavations for foundations reveal the footings will rest on
fill. It shall be carried deeper until the desired stratum for safe bearing power is reached.

2.4 BACKFILLING, FILLING AND GRADING


A. After the forms have been removed from the footings, piers and foundation walls, and when the
concrete is hard enough to resist the pressure resulting from fill, the materials from excavations
shall be used for backfilling around them. Materials not so used shall be placed on the
immediate premises.
B. All fills shall be placed in layers not exceeding 15 cm in thickness, each layer being thoroughly
compacted by wetting, compacting or rolling.

SECTION 3. CONCRETE AND MASONRY


3.1 MATERIALS
A. Portland cement used shall have passed the government test and of approved quality.
B. Aggregates shall be clean and free from alkali, organic matter or other deleterious substances, or
other that is taken from the source.
C. Water used in gauging concrete shall reasonably free and clean, free from oil, acid alkali, or
other deleterious substances.

3.2 PROPORTIONS OF CONCRETE


A. Use 3,000 psi concrete for reinforced concrete walls,
B. Use 3,000 psi concrete for footings and columns.

3.3 REINFORCEMENT
A. Reinforcement bars shall be the size and number indicated on the drawings. They shall be
accurately spaced and secured against displacement by gauge 16 G.I. wire.

3.4 CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCKS


A. All the concrete hollow blocks shall be laid with a mortar composed of one part Portland cement
and three parts sands. Horizontal and vertical joints shall be 10 mm thick.
B. Unless otherwise indicated in the drawing, reinforcement shall be 10 mm vertical bars 80 cm on
centers and 8 mm horizontal bars every third course. All concrete hollow blocks cells from
footing to floor line shall be solidly filled with cement mortar from floor line to girt where joints
and reimbursements occurs shall be also solidly filled with cement mortar.

3.5 PLASTERING
A. Unless otherwise indicated all concrete walls shall receive two coats of cement plaster (scratch
and finish coats).
B. The scratch coat consisting of one Portland cement to three parts sand shall be applied to a
thickness of approximately 10 mm and for a finish coat use one part of the Portland cement to
two parts sand applied to a thickness of approximately 3 mm.
