Reception Literacy Activities

This literacy planning sheet outlines 5 days of phonics instruction in Reception (preschool) focusing on individual letter sounds. Each day covers a warm-up, teaching of a letter sound through a story and activity finding examples, focused practice forming the letter, and a plenary session. The goal is for children to recognize and form the letters while developing listening and participation skills in large and small groups. A variety of multi-sensory activities like water, paint, collage and objects are used to engage students with the letters.
