DIGITAL POSTER MAKING CONTEST
In light of the celebration of the National Science Club Month, the Science Department of Pilar College of
Zamboanga City launches the Digital Poster Making Contest.
The Digital Poster Making Contest aims to engage Pilarists in the national celebration of the National Science
Club Month and to raise awareness among students on the different social and environmental issues on our
Philippine oceans with the theme: “RIPTIDE: Science Clubbing Steadfast Against Raging Currents.”
MECHANICS/ GUIDELINES:
1. ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open all Pilarists from Grades 5-12. Each section must have representative/s.
The chosen representative must not join any competition except the Weekly Challenges.
2. ENTRIES
Grades 5 and 6 may submit maximum of five (5) entries per section. The rest of the grade levels
must submit only one (1) entry per section.
The poster must illustrate, interpret and emphasize the theme of the National Science Club Month:
“RIPTIDE: Science Clubbing Steadfast Against Raging Currents.”
No name and section must be shown in the poster entries.
Participants may use any editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Paint, MS Powerpoint, etc.)
The size of the poster must be in a short bondpaper size (8.5” x 11”) in a landscape format.
The poster participants must use original work so as not to be subjected to copyright infringement.
Submission date is on September 8, 2021, 4:00 pm only. Late entries will be deducted.
The entries will be simultaneously posted on the school’s official Facebook student activity page-
-Delphis. Official posting and voting of the entries will be on September 9, 2021, 10:00 am. Voting
ends on September 10, 2021, 4pm.
For Grades 5 and 6, a picture of their poster must be submitted together with the video of them
doing the poster through the email below.
Submission of final entries will be through email [email protected] with DIGITAL
POSTER MAKING CONTEST as the subject and Name, Grade and Section in the body, and
attach the poster in .jpeg form.
The participant must include a video (time-lapse) of them doing the poster to prove originality.
The video will be submitted together with the official entry.
Submission of entry constitutes permission to use the contestant's name and entry for purposes of
presentation, marketing and promotion without additional compensation, unless prohibited by
law. All entries become property of the PCZC.
CRITERIA
The decision of the panel of judges based on the following criteria is final and irrevocable.
CRITERIA DESCRIPTION PERCENTAGE
The work easily explains the theme
Relevance to the theme of Month and entices the general 30%
audience at first glance.
Originality The work must be original. 30%
Adherence to the technical
requirements and contain elements
Creativity and Presentation 30%
that are creatively and correctly
used (i.e. text, illustrations, etc.)
Facebook Reactions The poster allows audience 10%
engagement.
Winning entries will be posted on the Student Activity Official Facebook Page. Winners will receive an email for
notification and receive an electronic certificate. Participants are automatically exempted on one of their quizzes
in their Science Subject.
