In my opinion, letting my children eat in a restaurant is an ideal choice due to
two main reasons. First, kids have a place to play with other kids in the kinder
garden of the restaurant. Parents have more time to enjoy their own meal, we
can talk and chat together, and we have some times to relax after taking care of
kids all the time at home. Moreover, kids can learn something new at the new
places.

Second, eating in a restaurant we can make sure about the quality of the food
better than a fast-food restaurant or a barbecue stall, a restaurant has a variety of
fresh food we can choose and ask the chef to cook as our taste.

age

Prevents them from sleeping

 What do you usually do with your mobile phone?

 Do you think more and more mobile phones will be sold in the future?
 At what age should children have a mobile phone of their own?

Nowadays, many children are provided with mobile phones since early ages in
order to, according to some parents, keep in contact with their parents when
they are out home. But, new technologies and children should be controled by
adults as far as is possible.

First, Young children are not able to understand the risks and problems that
smarthones can produce. Children want to be as their classmates, to be in
fashion. Managing a smartphone with its characteristics is a difficult task which
requires maturity. It can affect their ability to learn.

Second, internet is a wide world connection. Using social networks as

Facebook, Zalo, Gapo, young children are addicted to use the cell phone all day
instead of focusing on their learning or developing their own skills. It may
prevent them from sleeping; it affects the results of studying at school.

Moreover, using a mobile phone a lot makes kids not have time to share ideas
with parents; it will create a bad habit for kids. It may change the relationship
between kids and parents. Parents need to establish their relationship with
children through their own growth.

Lastly, It causes behavioral problems. Spending more than two hours per day on
a smartphone is enough to cause emotional and social problems. Accordingly,

LISA ENGLISH – 58 NAM CAO – ĐÀ NẴNG – Hotline: 0979 230 130 Page 35
exposure to the games available on smartphone apps links children to an
increased risk of attention problems.

Sweden. She may be quite busy there. However, you want to be in touch with
her every day. There are three means of communication suggested: by writing
letters, by emailing and by telephoning. Which is the three above options should
be the best choice?
 In my opinion, emailing to my close friends going on a business trip for two
months in Sweden is the best choice because of two main reasons.

First, she may be quite busy with her work there, if I call her often, it will not be
convenient to both of us, or if I write her a letter, it will take a long time to get
to her hand. Emailing is much faster, we use the internet and she can reply my
email immediately or whenever she has free time.

Second, it is the cheapest means of communication with her. I don‘t have to pay
much money like telephoning, even we can use video calls to keep in touch
together. It makes us feel closer.

 Do you think computers will replace teachers in the next 50 years?
 How would you like your school/office to be in the next 50 years?
 Do you like going to school/work now? Why/why not?

Schools today look almost nothing like they did 50 years ago. So, in
the next 50 years, schools are poised to become highly collaborative
spaces, thanks to the advent of virtual and augmented reality.
Instead of needing to meet in the same physical space, students
could work on long-term projects remotely and interact through
online platforms.
Schools of the future will embrace collaboration as a top priority as
the Internet continues to bleed into people's daily lives. For kids to
work together in the best way possible, schools have to group them
in the best possible way.

If we use machine learning entering the picture, Educators will be

able to give students online tests that are smart enough to group
kids by interest and skill level, rather than the current system of
grouping them by age. That kind of intuitive machine learning could
also help put kids on the right career path. For kids to work together
in the best way possible, schools have to group them in the best
possible way.

That's where Rochelle sees machine learning entering the picture.

Educators will be able to give students online tests that are smart

The tech revolution needs teachers to

lead it
But Rochelle knows technology can't transform education on its
own — it takes a smart application of cutting-edge products to help
kids learn. As the world gets more technologically advanced, it's
partly up to teachers to make sure kids feel comfortable using the
latest products effectively.

spend his money doing one of the following activities: travelling around the
world, buying an apartment, and gambling in Las Vegas. Which choice do you
think he should pick up?
In my opinion, buying an apartment is an ideal choice because of two main
reasons.
First, my friend are renting a flat to live, it‘s not stable for his life, buying an
apartment will help him own a property, he can use for a long time. He can also
spare a part of money from it to travel to one or two countries to relax and learn
something new.
Second, buying an apartment is one of his dreams; it brings a lot of benefits for
him when he gets married and has kids. It is much better than gambling in Las
Vegas; he may lose all the money.

Part 3: Topic Development
Topic: What makes a good friend?

What makes a Your own idea

Sharing good friend

Understanding

Having good friends who love and support us for whom we are is really
important for our happiness. Let‘s figure out what makes a good friend, and
learn how we can be there for our friends when they need us most.

First, good friends try to understand a situation from their friend‘s point of
view. They will ask questions to get a sense of the problem or issue, but the
main thing is to listen to them. We don‘t have to have all the answers, and don‘t
assume that our friend wants advice –they might just want to talk so that they
can work it out for themselves.

Second, good friends are willing to share. If our friend has a medical or mental
health issue, a good way to offer support is to learn about what they‘ve been
diagnosed with. Being interested in what they‘re going through shows we care,
and that we plan to stick around no matter what‘s going on.

Moreover, Another important quality of a good friend is loyalty. We all

experience times when we're not the most popular person to be around. Perhaps
we've done something wrong or we are in a bad mood. Good friends are loyal
and accept you for who you are during the good and bad times.

Lastly, one of the keys to being present for a friend is action. People can say all
sorts of things, but as the old saying goes, ―actions speak louder than words."
Someone may say they'll be there for you when you need them, but when
difficulties arise, a good friend will actually be there to help.

Let’s talk about
 How often do you go online?
 Is the internet important to you?

Part 2: Solution Discussion
Situation: You are thinking of more stimulating activities to help your students
learn about the world around them. The students are from eight to ten years old
and love doing outdoor activities. There are three options that you are
considering: cooking, gardening, and visiting museums. Which activity would
you pick up?
In my opinion, gardening is the best choice for stimulating activities to help
our students learn about the world around them when they are between eight
and ten years old.
First, plant care fosters responsibility, whether its flowers or vegetables, caring
for plants helps teenagers develop responsibility. They also gain a sense of
accomplishment and self-confidence as they raise small sprouts into full
blooming beauties.
Second, gardening is good for psychological well-being. Plants are often used
as a therapeutic tool to help improve mental health, and horticulture therapy is
used in many therapeutic programs for teens.
Lastly, outdoor time promotes exercise. Gardening or even if confined to a
small plot or a container garden offers healthy doses of fresh air, sunshine, and
exercise. These benefits are especially good for teens who generally avoid
physical activity. You may find that your couch potato enjoys growing actual
potatoes.

Improves job opportunities

 How many foreign languages do you know?

 Do you take part in any language clubs?
 Do you think people will use one language in the future?

In a globalized world, where mobility is facilitated, learning a language is a

wonderful benefit. Not only does it help when traveling, it is also a great
advantage for studying in general and for career prospects abroad. Acquiring a
second language enables us to develop various mental abilities at all ages. It
brings many benefits for learners.

First, learning foreign language increases knowledge. the more the brain is used,
the better its functions work. A new language requires not only familiarity with
vocabulary and rules, but also being able to recall and apply this knowledge.
Learning a language gives your memory a good work out in the brain gym.
This means that multilingual people have brains that are more exercised and
quick to recall names, directions, facts, and figures.

Moreover, doors are opened to you around the world. If we‘re learning in a
group setting, you immediately have new friends to share our new language
with. If not, then once we go somewhere and are actually able to employ what
