Teenagers are the most valuable prospect of the world that will be turning into the future
leaders. So, it is important that we promise a bright future for each one of them. In this modern era,
we have been receiving so many opinions from various parties stating that teenagers should be given
more freedom. It is because they assume that the teenagers today are more mature compared to the
teenagers in the early days. I totally disagree with this statement because of several reasons.
First and foremost, I disagree with that statement because the teenagers today aren’t
mature enough yet in the eyes of the world. The most obvious proof that we can see in our daily life is
the amount of crimes committed by the teenagers are increasing day by day. This clearly shows that
teenagers are still having trouble in making the right decision and to differentiate between the good
and evil things, which is totally opposite of being mature. Therefore, giving freedom to them will
worsen the current situation of the world.
The next reason why I strictly disagree with that statement is we can produce teenagers with
better quality and personality if we guide them properly rather than giving them freedom. Many
researches also have stated that parental guidance plays a vital role in shaping a teenagers. As an
example, the parents can monitor their children activities from time to time and make sure that they
are not influenced by any risky behaviour. On the other hand, parents also can advice their children in
a right way to bring them out of any unwanted behaviour because it’s better late than never. In that
case, giving freedom to the teenagers are just excuse that people give to run away from their
responsibility.
In addition, I disagree with the statement because we are living in a world that has too many
source of bad influence that can easily affect the teenagers. First of all, it is the gadgets and social
medias. Teenagers nowadays would prefer to go through their smartphone compare to reading story
books. So if we just let them in their way, it would affect their studies and they can’t score flying
colours in their examinations. Next, freedom also can lead teenagers to peer pressure. Teenagers
have the chance of hanging out with the wrong friends and get influenced by their bad habits such as
drinking alcohol, smoking or even taking drugs. So this proves that freedom bring more damage than
good for the teenagers life.
In conclusion, teenagers have the rights to get freedom but excessive freedom are going to
destroy their future. In my opinion, teenagers today are getting enough freedom already.
Nevertheless, each of us must play our roles in not letting the teenagers to get out of hand and keep
them in control for the good of everyone.
