Ingate Analysis Tool
A new Ingate analysis tool has been introduced to calculate average results through selected gates area.
Following entities are supported:
l Mass flow
l Mass flow rate
l Volume flow rate
ESI-Player for QuikCAST
Export in erf file format for ESI-Player is now available for QuikCAST.

G3D Format Export
Export in G3D format for GOM software has been added in the export area.
Multiple Selection for Store Particles
Multiple selection in stored particles area is now possible for an easier usage of the functionality.

Bug Fixes (Selected)
l Entity info was not possible when cut-off and slice are applied. This is fixed.
l Pre-Defined scale color types was not working properly in multiple model scenario. This is fixed.
l Last selection was not considered while reopening of “Evolution/Profile” dialog. This is fixed.
l Cutoff type was not set automatically for NAPM Shrinkage porosity results. This is fixed.
l Alpha case Prediction tool was not showing any units. Units have been added.
l “Calculate new particle” was not calculating properly when used plane as selection method. This is fixed.
l Velocity Vectors were still displayed after FLOW was OFF. This is fixed.
l CAFÉ result loading with 2016 solver had irregularity in format causing the application to crash on
loading. This is fixed.
l PATRAN file export was crashing for some models on Windows 10. This is fixed.
l In some specific cases, the selection on APM results to display ‘Cutoff Info’ did not work. This is fixed.
l In some specific cases, last step results were not displayed properly in Colorflow results. This is fixed.
Known Issues
l If more than one Principal stress is selected for display as vector, its maximum value will not be displayed
properly in the legend.
l If units are changed in the cut-off mode, contours will not be displayed properly. You are advised to
change them in snapshot mode and then switch to cut-off mode.
l During copying and pasting of model from one window or page to another, the image may not be
displayed as expected.
Workaround: The model is displayed properly by pressing ‘F’, that is, fitting the model within the window.
l During CAFE result display, the model is not refreshed sometimes.
Workaround: Click on the model window and rotate.
l In deform export, coincident and equivalent interfaces are detected using <prefix>ff.unf file. If this file is
not present, the exported file will not be proper. It is recommended to export only the final single part to
be imported into DEFORM rather than the whole model, as DEFORM manages interface differently.
l In case of Profile plotting for dynamic models like MILE, the profile created at one step will give incorrect
result if plotted during another step.
l In case of copy window, working with cut-off may give wrong results sometimes. Hence, it is advised to
refresh the window by slightly rotating the model and then applying the cut-off.

Limitations
l Precipitation result generation is not supported in Linux platform.
l Template does not support calculated particles, free surface / point XY-plotting.
l Volume of porosity computation is linked to the mesh size; consequently, this is an approximated value.
l Exporting the evolution curves plotted is faulty. If the curve names are not present in the ‘Page/File View’
tab, exporting two or more curves by pressing ‘Ctrl’ key and right-clicking will yield an error.
l Misrun is caused by a combined effect of viscosity and permeability. The risk indicator is not applicable to
thixo casting since the metal at inlet is already in the mushy zone.
l Unit conversion is not supported for ‘Temperature gradient’ results. It is always displayed in K/cm units.
l Since the Inclusion Particle Tracking tool acts in post-processing mode, it relies on the frequency of the
result storage, controlled by the run parameter VFREQ. With high values of VFREQ, there may be too
little information to displace the trace. Therefore, the results may not be very accurate, with the trace
leaving the alloy domain. In that case, it is advised to reduce VFREQ.
l Ingate flow rate calculation may not show accurate results in case the defined section is not normal to the
flow direction. This feature must not be used in case front and backward filling occurs at the same time in
the defined section.
