Lower Limb Venous Doppler Report

The Doppler sonography found normal anatomy in the deep and superficial venous systems of both lower limbs with no evidence of thrombosis. Blood flow was normal. The arterial Doppler also found normal anatomy and blood flow in the arteries of both lower limbs, with no significant narrowing seen. The study showed no abnormalities in the venous or arterial systems of the lower limbs.

DOPPLER SONOGRAPHY OF BOTH LOWER LIMB VENOUS SYSTEM

DEEP VENOUS SYSTEM

The common femoral vein, superficial femoral vein, deep femoral vein, popliteal vein and deep veins
of calf were examined. The venous system shows normal anatomy.

The veins show thin walls and anechoic lumen. The venous walls are completely compressible.

Colour Doppler shows complete luminal filling of colors. Spectral tracing shows normal continuous
venous pattern in the resting phase and phasic variation during respiratory activity.

No changes suggestive of acute or any previous venous thrombosis noted.

Flow augmentation on calf muscle compression noted.

SUPERFICIAL VENOUS SYSTEM

Both long and short saphenous veins are normal in course and caliber.

No venous reflux seen in Valsalva maneuver in the Sapheno-femoral or Sapheno popliteal junctions.

No evidence of thrombosis in the superficial veins.

No evidence of any varicosities in the long saphenous or short saphenous territory.

IMPRESSION

No evidence of thrombosis in the deep or superficial veins of the lower limb.

No feature of varicosity is noted either.

Please correlate clinically.

Arterial Doppler both lower limb done from common femoral artery to dorsalis pedis artery
including superficial femoral artery, popliteal artery and posterior tibial artery.

B mode-

Examined vessels are normal in course, calubre. No evidence of significant narrowing or thrombosis
noted.

Spectral analysis-

Spectral wave pattern of all the artery of both lower limbs show triphasic normal wavepattern.

No significant narrowing is seen in the arteries.
