The course is developed especially for scientists, engineers and senior management in an organization
to help them understand the fundamentals of managing the IP assets of an organization. The course is
designed to make the participants aware of different IP Rights and how to seek protection for them .
Further, the course is specially designed for science , engineering and management students exposing
them to the various career opportunities in the IPR domain or to provide them an extra edge in their
career/profession.

Course Duration- 40 Hrs

The course will include lectures and presentations on:


1. Introduction to Intellectual Property Law Law-History and Development
2. Various types of IP Laws including Patents, Designs, Trademarks, etc.
3. Procedural formalities for filing a Patent and Trademark Application in
India
4. Patent eligible subject matters in India
5. Advantages and concerns for an organization seeking a particular IP
protection.
6. Enforcing an IP asset: Infringement and remedies
7. Court decisions, Examples from Sector specific industries
8. International systems for filing patent application abroad after filing in
India; Introduction to PCT and Convention route filings
9. Transfer and sale of an IP asset
10. Case studies and examples
