Personality Development

No person on earth is perfect. We are human and we are prone to do mistakes, be it intentionally
or unintentionally. To err is human, but not to correct and learn from it, is foolishness. The
moment when we realize our mistakes and weaknesses, is the starting point of our personality
development. Our personality is what makes our life and career, so we should always look for
self development.

Personality development is an ongoing process that one needs to achieve, to keep his growth and
prosperity intact. Our personality generally is a sum total of our thinking patterns, habits,
character genes and environmental effects. And you can always improve yourself by learning
and adapting to new things. Few aspects that will contribute to your personality development are

• Healthy and clean mind and body.


• Honesty and obedience in your thoughts and actions.
• Loyalty towards self.
• Optimistic spirit.
• Pleasant voice and soft manners.
• Sincere desire to excel in everything.

You need to be consistent, spontaneous and very practical to adjust and out grow your
problematic situations. Its the way of your thinking, your attitude and your approach that will
develop a good personality in you.

Personal Behaviour
Our personal behavior is an important quality that reflects our character, attitude and personality.
Our personal behavior has a great impact on our career, business, goals, health and relationships.
It helps in building self esteem, improving self confidence and develops a professional
personality that will enhance our personal growth. So, developing and maintaining a good
professional personality and behavior is quite important.

Good behavior comes from our habits, beliefs and ways of thinking. You have to incorporate
positive personality traits within your behavior. Few important aspects that will help you
accomplish this are:

• Healthy lifestyle.
• Good education.
• Good self esteem and self confidence.
• High spirit and energy levels.
• Happy relationships.
Attitude
Its not strength, money or power that makes a man, its his attitude that builds his destiny. Isn't
it??

You are what your attitude is.

Good attitude comes from being prepared, being planned and being spontaneous in all acts. It is
developed as a practice, in the way of thinking, and the acting approach. If a person meets a road
accident in a remote area, and just falls there, giving up, no body is going to help his situation.
On the contrary, if he pulls some strength to stand up and look for some help, he will definitely
find some kind of help. Just like its a life Saviour in this case, Attitude is what that will save you
from terrible experiences of life, leading you towards success.

The power of positive thinking is enormous, it gives us lot of positive energy that will help us
develop a healthy, positive, bold and strong attitude. So staying positive, is very important.
Below are few aspects that will bring about positive energy and mindset.

 Respect yourself, as you are.


 Focus on your strengths and also weaknesses, and work on them.
 Avoid or fight negativity in your life.
 Be open minded.
 Be ready to adapt to changes.
 Always maintain positive frame of mind.

Inner Strength
A heavily built person need not be as strong as a mentally strong person. As it is often said,
strength comes from within, it is your inner strength that will keep you going, no matter what the
situation is. It is the mental fitness that matters more than the physical fitness. So, one should
always try to develop inner strength, which will give him mental toughness and helps in building
self confidence.

But the fact is that not many of us are emotionally strong, for various reasons. You can develop
your physical strength by working out daily, but developing inner strength is not an easy task.
You need to have complete control on your senses, to bring about complete awareness of your
mind and body, of your abilities and capabilities. The important aspects to develop inner strength
are

Peace of Mind
Peaceful life is what everyone strives for, at the end of the day. Isn't it? But how many of us
manage that?

Peace of mind is hardly achievable, we must accept, thanks to our busy corporate lifestyle
changes. It is difficult to change these habits, so we need to look for some changes in our daily
life that will bring about peace of mind. Below are some tips for peace of mind, that will give
you relaxation and safe guard your health and wellness. Incorporate them into your life, in some
or the other form to make sure you stay happy and peaceful.

• Take out some self time for yourself, regularly.


• Try to forgive things and people, when something goes wrong.
• See things from others perspective.
• Balance your mental activity with equal physical activity.
• Maintain and enjoy weekend hobbies.
• Visit holy places with your loved ones.

Life Goals
Everyone of us have certain dream goals in life, which we love to attain and cherish the afterlife.
But there is always a big difference between our dreams and the practical possibilities. To fill in
that gap, we need to be very efficient in setting our personal life goals, to make our dreams come
true.

How to be successful in life goals? The answer to this would not be a definite one. Chasing our
goals is an ongoing process to make things happen, again and again without losing our spirit in
between. You need proper planning and motivation in setting and achieving your personal goals.

You can always dream big, but also keep in mind the practical possibilities and keep working towards
them. When you believe that you have set achievable goals, never lose your confidence anytime. Always
keep yourself positive and active in chasing your goals, and then your life goals will just become a
destination, that you will cherish reaching.
